111. Loving words

"Do I really have to go with you to the dinner event?" Veronica asked, sounding a bit reluctant. Just as she had returned from work, her husband had invited her to accompany him to a dinner event with one of his business associates.

Veronica was not particularly thrilled about it, but being the wife of a company leader came with certain obligations, and she reluctantly complied with her husband's request.

"Well, I can't go alone, sweetheart. I'll definitely be asked about it. Besides, I can't go with another woman, right?"

Veronica gave him a stern look. She couldn't believe her husband would even consider attending an event with another woman.

"Be careful if you dare!"

"Well, I wouldn't dare, my love. So, get ready quickly. I'll be waiting for you outside."

As Darwin left the room, Veronica hurriedly searched and chose from her vast collection of evening gow
