Chapter 30 A Little Punishment

Back in Bryndale, Natalie was standing in front of Nathaniel, who had his arms crossed angrily, with a guilty face. She grabbed onto his shirt cutely. “I’m sorry, Nathaniel. I switched off the earphones because I was just too happy to see Great-Grandpa.”

“Do you know how dangerous that was?”

“But I’m fine now, aren’t I?”

“What if Great-Grandpa recognized you? Mommy wouldn’t be able to return home safely from Jefton State. Do you want us to have to move in with the Jenkins family with Mommy?” Nathaniel asked.

Natalie shook her head.

“Did you tell Great-Grandpa anything?”

Natalie wanted to tell him she only told Great-Grandpa her name. Since there were many people with the same family name, it shouldn’t be a problem. But when faced with her brother, she cleverly decided to shake her head. “Great-Grandpa just thought I was a lost little girl. Nothing else.”

"No more going off the rails next time."

"Okay. I promise there won’t be a next time. So, did we succeed, Nathaniel?" she
