63: AN ACHILLES HEEL 2

Alvira woke up rather enthusiastic about the day. She had spoken to Simon just a few hours before she went to bed the previous day and he had promised to pick her up after her classes in the evening. The mere thought of them going on a date again made her blush.

But from the moment she got to the mansion, she knew something was wrong, the other maids who would usually welcome her with a cheerful, ‘good morning Alvria’ practically avoided her like a plague.

It first happened in the dressing room. The place was as bubbly and as busy as usual, people were taking their baths and changing into their uniforms while others were rushing out to carry out their duties but the moment Alvira walked in, the whole place went silent as everyone turned and stared at her, one could almost hear a pin drop from the silence.
