Liam felt weak.
On Steve leaving the rooftop, Liam stayed there, a million things going on his head. The anger in his head had subsided, now replaced with a feeling of anguish.
Steve's words echoed in his head and he hated every single of them. They made him mad. They made him confused. They made him anxious. They made him feel emotions he couldn't explain.
After a while, he headed downstairs. Having spent close to ten minutes on the rooftop, he hoped and believed the hallways were going to be empty. The last thing he wanted was walking through a hallway filled with people.
Like he hoped, the hallways were empty when he got there. As fast as he could, he walked out to the usual spot Brian parked the car.
"Liam!" Jasmine rushed towards him as she spotted him. He internally groaned as he walked towards her, Brian and the car. "God, I looked everywhere
Liam stepped out of his house expecting to meet Brian standing by the car waiting for him. Instead, he met Brian alongside Jasmine smiling. "Jas," he called out as he walked towards her. "What are you doing here?" "Isn't it obvious?" she asked, getting into the car. "I'm here to get a free ride to school." Liam shook his head, smiled and joined Jas at the back seat. "You were literally here yesterday." "How are you?" she asked in a voice lower than normal as Brian turned the car on. "Fine," Liam replied, adjusting his backpack. He knew what she meant so he didn't bother uselessly beat around the bush. "We spoke yesterday." On the phone till past midnight. Their conversation from the previous day didn't end at them confirming they were still one month boyfriends. They talked about random things until Steve finally sounded completely sober. They tal
Steve was going to be picking Liam up in less than two hours.Liam wasn't as nervous as he thought he was going to be about going to the party. Nick was going to be attending it too not because he fancied Trevor but because it was just another high school party to him. For him, attending parties threw by students at school was a normal thing he was just going to repeat. On hearing Liam was going to be attending the party, Nick automatically suggested picking him up. With a smile, Liam declined his request remembering Steve Reeds was going to be doing him that favor already."C'mon Jas," Liam pleaded for the millionth time on the phone. "You love parties, don't you? It'd be fun."When he included having Jasmine tag along as a condition to him going to the party, he hadn't expected her to refuse going so strongly. He had been trying to come up with reasonable reasons to go since the moment
They left the party few minutes after nine. Steve suggested them spending the night at Trevor's cause it was late already but Liam insisted on going home thus he had to drive him.The drive was home was silent, the duo having different things on their minds."Will you be heading back home?" Liam finally broke the silence when they were already close to his place."Nope," Steve's eyes were fixed on the road as he drove. "I'll be spending the night at Trevor's. It's a weekend anyways.""Oh," Liam toyed with his fingers. "So you'll be spending the weekend at his place?""Nahh," Steve shook his head. "I'll be be going back home tomorrow. Why?""Why what?""Why are you asking?""Can't I just be curious?""I don't know," Steve took a quick glance at Liam. "Do you have any plans for your weekend?"
It was a Monday morning and Brian drove Liam to school as usual. On getting to school, immediately Liam stepped out of the car, he spotted Jasmine rushing towards him."Hey, Liam," she held onto him as she got infront of him. "Are you okay?""Hey, hey," Liam pulled away. "Of course I'm okay. What's up? Why do you look so worried?"She exhaled, taking few steps backwards. She ran her hand through her hair, leaving it disheveled. Her face screamed worry as she looked at Liam."Jasmine?"She exhaled again. "I guess you've not seen it." "Seen it? What?""Don't freak out, okay?" she placed her hand on Liam's shoulders.Liam was beginning to be worried. "Fine.""It's about you and Steve," she began. "You both...I don't even know if it's a real picture or not but there's a picture of you two
Liam, Jasmine and Steve had gotten used to spending time together. Ever since their last attempt at getting together at Steve's house for the project's fail, all they did was meet up at the library during free periods or after school hours to work on it.It was finally the day of their project and they were spending their recess in the library getting ready. Liam had distributed their points and likely questions they could be asked to them and had gotten them ready."It's just another Miss Laura's project," Steve said to Liam. "You don't need to feel nervous.""I'm not nervous.""Majority of her grades do not come from what you actually present," he continued, ignoring Liam's claim. "I've told you already. It's all about teamwork and we're a pretty good team already.""Oh yes we are," Jasmine included, smirking. "Right, I wanted to ask. Do you know who Nick got paired with?
It was recess and Liam and Jasmine were stuck on what to eat."I think I'll just go with a Coke," Liam said after staring at the menu for an unusual amount of time. "I don't think I'm that hungry.""Two burgers and two cokes then," Jasmine made up her mind."Two burgers?""Yeah, me and you," she replied. "You're not starving on my watch."They walked into the main interior of the cafeteria stylishly looking around for an empty seat. Their usual seat wasn't taken so they just walked over to it.It was just the two of them. Nick was still nowhere to be found and Steve was sitting with friends. After texting Steve when he got home as promised the previous day, they talked for a while about random things and ended the texts normally.Liam took a huge bite out of his burger and immediately spotted Nick walking into the caf
Their goodbyes were awkward as Steve dropped Liam off at his place.Liam stepped out of the car and headed inside. He spotted the car parked signifying his mum was back. He exhaled and opened the door to the interior part of the house. His mum was in the living room sitting on a sofa. She was still in work clothes and her bag was next to her."Mum," he smiled, sitting opposite her. "You're back.""Honey, you're home. Just got back few minutes ago," she picked up her bag to take something from it. "How was school?""It was...great," Liam replied, remembering the day's events. "And how was work?""Very well, thank you," she beamed. "You must be exhausted. Go freshen up. I'll do the same and come down to make dinner later.""Um, mum," he said as she got up to leave."Yes?"He
Liam was stuck.Looking at himself in the mirror for the hundredth time, he was in a white sweatshirt with imprints and dark blue jeans. His hair was washed and styled and he was ready to go.However, he had no idea how he was going to get there. His mum wasn't back from work yet so there was no way Brian could pick him and Steve was playing so there was no way he'd leave his team just to come pick up one of the numerous people that'd be watching. He suddenly remembered Nick. He had no idea if he was also going to be at the match but Liam strongly doubted it. Just like he asked, he was giving him space. The space he needed to get over him, he hoped. Thus, he was stuck. He headed downstairs, thinking of how to get to school. He could take the bus but he didn't even know where to or how the whole bus system worked. Knowing he would probably end up not going if he couldn't find a wa
