Chapter 24

Tears filled Vivienne's eyes as she saw Cedric's hesitancy. Her face was pale and made people feel distressed.

“No matter whether you can accept me or not, Dion is innocent. His only wish is to have a father. Cedric, please have some sympathy for our son, okay?”

Cedric swallowed hard, feeling conflicted at Vivienne's modest request. He recalled how pitiful the little boy looked when he hugged him and refused to let go. His heart softened again as he said, “Okay, I’ll start over with you. I will try my best to make it up to Dion.”

“I’m content as long as Dion can be happy. Thank you.”

She released her tight hold around his waist and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. When Cedric saw Vivienne’s composed, kind, and understanding gaze, his frown slowly relaxed as he said, “I’ll go back with you to keep Dion company.”

“Okay, he’ll be thrilled to see you.”

Cedric started the car again. Vivienne turned to look out the window, and a small smile spread across her lips.
