Chapter 378

Sophie was already pushing her body to its limits and could hardly resist when she was forcefully yanked. Collapsing, her forehead smacked against the cold, unyielding wall.

"Enough of this nonsense!" Jeff exclaimed.

Jeff’s face showed pain as he watched Sophie fall. He reached out to help her up, but his old body could not bend all the way, and he struggled mid-stretch.

"Sophie, your mother-in-law is just worried about Cedric. Try not to respond in kind."

Matthew interjected to clarify the situation, stressing that Sophie too was a victim, and Cedric had heroically risked his life for her. As parents, they should not make things harder for her.
