The best way to avoid an awkward situation was to leave the location altogether. With a smile and a nod to the crowd, Sophie headed toward the lounge.

"I must call Soph. If she can't make it to this wedding, I'm not going through with it." Jeanna grew more anxious as she waited.

Her little tantrum almost scared Sean to death. He immediately grabbed her hand and looked at her with a pitiful and distressed expression. "Please don't! My mother specifically chose today to be our wedding date, and so many people have come. You can't abandon me like this!"

"Sean Cheshire! Stop your pretense!" Jeanna could not help but smile as she skillfully pinched his arm.
