Breaking dawn
'I don't want to open my eyes.' Celine tried so hard to stay asleep but, her body wouldn't cooperate and she badly needed to pee. "Kevin, can you pass me my robe honey?" She mumbled. It was the lack of response from her husband that made her slowly open one eye. For a second she was puzzled at her surroundings, and then it all came rushing back, and Celine shot up, reaching for Kevin, but her hand only encountered the cold sheets. And she knew.
With tear-filled eyes, she glanced around, looking for anything that would tell her he had changed his mind, and Celine's heart skipped a beat when the flashing of his cell phone caught her attention. Stuck to the screen was a post-it note, with Kevin's telltale chicken scribble on it, and through her tears, she smiled at the typical Keviness of it.
"Press play." The chicken scribble read.
And so she did.
