Chapter 2
Lost memories"Sir, she has a fever." Misty said while wiping the woman with the wet towel. She already has a comforter that was rolled in her entire body, but she's still shivering in the cold. Gavin also asked the maid to turn off the aircon for her."That's normal. She was floating on the ocean with a lot of deep wounds," the old lady said while preparing everything to treat the woman."Are you sure that she can treat her?" Gavin asked. He never once met anyone who's not a doctor who knows how to treat an ill person. That's why he couldn't help but to doubt her capabilities."Sir, she's the only one we have here. There's no doctors or nurses near the island," Misty said while panicking."Whatever. Just make sure to treat her," he said and marched out of the room."Sir, I can't be wrong. That woman is the one who's currently missing," the old man mentioned, the husband of the old lady who was treating her. Gavin quickly stopped when he said that."She's all over the news. Even here on the newspaper," he said and showed him the newspaper. He quickly stole it from his hand and read it furtherly. The old man was right. She was missing and her family is looking for her. Two clans are searching for her, offering a million to anyone who can find her. But then, none of them knows if she's alive or dead as they couldn't find her body yet."Listen," he uttered before he gave it back to the old man. "I want this to be a secret. No one should know who is not until I say so," he clarified in his baritone voice, using his authority."Yes, sir!" The old man answered."Miguel," he called one of his men."Yes, sir?""I want you to go back there and tell me what's happening," he ordered while pouring alcohol in the glass."Do you want me to investigate what happened to her?" Miguel asked.Gavin froze for a moment and was lost for words. His head was a mess. He doesn't know what to do for a while. Should he keep the woman here? Or send her back to her clan who's looking for her? Because for some unknown reason, something's bothering him, making him suspicious about something."Do what you can do," he replied. When the man left to obey his orders, his phone rang again. This time, it was Estevan who's calling him."I'm busy," he said immediately before they could even pester him again."Have you heard the news? We want to keep you updated," Estevan said over the phone. He was not surprised anymore. He already knew what he was talking about."What news?" He asked and still pretended not to know a thing about it."It seems like there's another chaos between clans in this Mafia world. The heiress of the Gabriel is missing, her plane exploded. Do you know her?""He probably does. Gavin knows every Mafia boss," he heard Gabe comment on the line."Yeah. She's the famous sword woman, the who kills with her sword." He uttered. Of course, he knows her. He never met him not until this coincidence happened."Do you believe that her plane just exploded?" It was Larisa."Ask Gavin. He's the one who always suspects things," Gabe uttered followed by a chuckle."I don't know. I'm too busy to care about their mess. As long as our clan is not involved, there's nothing to worry about." He answered with half of his brain already pondering the situation. They do not even have any idea that Amara Gabriel is in his place. Now that Larisa mentioned it, his instincts tell him not to surrender Amara Gabriel. But if he doesn't, he will be involved in whatever mess she is in—not just him, but the entire clan of Clyborne."Well, I think it was not just a plane crash. I believe someone's behind it," Estevan mentioned."Stop wasting my time," he muttered before he ended the call and was left staring into nothing."Sir, the woman is now safe." Misty said as she went downstairs with the old man and the old woman who acted as doctor."She's getting better. Rest is all she needs. I also took care of all her wounds. What happened to her? All her wounds were serious," the old woman asked with curiosity. Those wounds were not even ordinary. Her husband behind him remained silent and was only staring at Gavin."Can I ask all of you a favor?" He asked. That moment, he didn't know what he was doing anymore."Sure, what is it?" Misty asked with a wide smile."Can you not tell anyone that the woman is here?" He asked. That's the only thing he can do now. But it doesn't mean that he will keep her in his place. He's not making any decisions yet."Why? What for?" The old woman asked."You'll know soon," he replied. "I just need some time to think.""Of course, sir. We will keep this a secret," the old man answered."I think that's better. It seems like the woman is in danger based on her condition," Misty mentioned, wearing a tiny smile."Did anyone see the woman earlier?" Gavin asked. He wants to make sure that the news about that woman will never be out of the island. It must stay there between them."Some fishermen saw you carrying her. But don't worry, I'll speak to them." Misty mentioned."They are my friends. Don't worry, I can talk to them. The people here don't have a big mouth," the old man said, which relieves Gavin for a while."Thanks. Misty, please let them eat and pay them for their work." Gavin commanded Misty."Yes, sir.""Sir, the woman is awake!" The maid upstairs yelled at them."That's fast," Misty mumbled. All of them quickly went upstairs to check the woman. And there was she, staring at the ceiling with her eyes blinking repeatedly."She's really awake," the old man commented."Where am I? Who are you?" She asked when she spotted all of them at the door."Calm down. Can you tell us your name?" Misty asked as she doesn't have any idea about who the woman is.Gavin was watching her with his sharp eyes, observing Amara Gabriel. Her brows met as she looked at Misty. She couldn't answer her question."My name," she uttered."Yeah, your name." Misty said."I-I…don't remember my name," her eyes went to Misty, confused. "Who am I? What happened to me?"All of them became silent. Misty was in awe. Her jaw almost dropped in front of the woman when she said that.Gavin's brows met while watching Amara Gabriel."Does she lose her memories?" The old lady asked."She did," Gavin uttered.Amara Gabriel lost all her memories.Chapter 3Double lies"Amethyst, have you found something?" Amara's mother asked immediately when Amethyst arrived at their place. The media are outside, asking for their words regarding what happened to Amara Gabriel. "I found nothing," she uttered in distress. They all have been frustrated. It's been two days since Amara vanished and the incident happened. In just a blink of an eye, Amara Gabriel went missing and none of them knows if she's dead or alive. "I've been searching. My men have no sleep," Agatha mentioned with her eyes closed filled with frustration."Our enemies will take this as an advantage to attack us," her father said while staring into nothing. "I need an update!" All of their eyes were captured when they heard Rio yelling at his men outside. The piece of crumpled newspaper dropped on the floor. Rio Blaze was devastated, losing it all. He has been looking for Amara and he couldn't even have a nap. "If you have to swim the ocean, do it! If you have to check eve
Chapter 4 Play with the fire"What are you talking about, sir?" Misty whispered in her lowest voice and blocked the woman in front of Gavin. "Just ride with it," he replied shortly and pulled her out of his sight. Now, his eyes dropped at Amara Gabriel who was really lost. She was staring into nothing with her brows crossed. He just found himself smirking as he watched her process that in her head. "H-How long have we been married?" She asked and forced a tiny smile. She was uncomfortable and Gavin could see it through her face. To be honest, his reckless decision also surprised him. He should not meddle in the first place with whatever mess Amara was in along with her clan. But the moment he looked at her earlier, with her enticing and dazzling innocent eyes at him, it felt like his mind suddenly flew in the air and made a very reckless decision. "You two have been married for a y—""Almost a year now," Gavin said. Her brows met even more. "Why didn't you go near me when I wo
Chapter 5DistantIt was early in the morning. The chirping of the bird woke up Luna or should we say, Amara. She slowly opened her eyes and blinked repeatedly. Her entire body still feels heavy like a huge stone that she could not move yet. The curtains were opened a bit to allow the sunshine to penetrate inside her room. The bright sun was hitting her on the bed but it didn't hurt her skin. Luna drew a small smile but it also faded from her lovely lips. She still feels lost. She woke up again feeling like her brain doesn't have anything. Luna finally sat on the bed. The mirror beside her greeted her by showing herself on it. It got her thinking, captured her eyes. Her eyes were glued at herself. Even how much she eyed herself, she still doesn't remember a thing about her. How she got married, and how she became like this. Even though they already told them everything, it still feels like a lot of things about her are missing. "Ah," she uttered and massaged her forehead when it su
Chapter 6Missing connectionGavin Clyborne. He looks kind and a soft-hearted man. Luna will never deny that her husband is handsome like a prince and hot as fvck. He can easily capture every woman's eyes just by walking without any intention of making them fall. The people on the island like him a lot. She kept hearing good words from them, especially how her husband plans to restore this beach resort that will also benefit all of them. He has that hairstyle like the usual haircut of the Korean people. His eyes were simple black eyes, but there is something from those that will make any woman tremble. His nose is perfectly shaped. It's pointed that every person will envy. Those lips were a bit thick that they could seduce every woman in just a second. "He's a businessman?" Luna asked Misty while she was telling her more about Gavin."Yes. Your husband doesn't just own this entire island. He has a lot of businesses in the country and even in other countries. The Clybornes are d*mn
Chapter 7DinnerThe weather was gloomy. There was no sunshine coming in from Luna's balcony. She was already awake and even done cleaning herself. But then, she was just sitting on the bed, trying to remember the memories that she lost while staring into nothing. Even though she tries to get back those memories, she was having a hard time. Especially that she's agitated because of her husband. She took a deep breath and shut her eyes. It took her a moment before she finally stood up and moved away from her bed to go out. She hadn't eaten anything since yesterday. Everything she said to Gavin is bothering her until now. It's not leaving her head. "Fvck," her feet automatically stopped and were glued on the floor when she heard that curse, early in the morning. Her eyes went at him and his eyes went at her. They were both stuck there, looking at each other awkwardly. Luna remembered what she said last night because of her hatred towards him. While Gavin was nervous and didn't know ho
Chapter 8 Thank youLuna can't take her eyes off Gavin who was eating in front of her. She could not even eat properly now that he is here all of a sudden. He suddenly changed in just a snap of her fingers as if something happened to him. It's not that she doesn't want it, she was just too stunned. "I might melt if you keep looking at me," he muttered, which made her look away and continued eating. "Sorry," she said and ate awkwardly. Gavin now glanced at her and watched her eat uncomfortably. He took a deep sigh while thinking of the words he would tell her. "I should be the one to apologize," he said, capturing her eyes back at him. Luns remained silent and their eyes met again. "I'm your husband and I acted like a stranger," he said. "Why?" Luna finally asked. "Why did you act like that?" She could not help but ask.How should he tell her that it was because he's not his real husband? That they are really strangers to each other and he's only doing this to protect her from t
Chapter 9The Chef"So this will be the seafood house and the sushi house?" Misty asked while discussing all the matters with Gavin. "Yes. The Chefs and their teams are coming to operate the restaurant. I was thinking if we can also add a bar and a restaurant where all the famous dishes of different countries are present," Gavin explained while looking at all the planned buildings by the Architect and Engineer. "I think you should add a steakhouse," Luna suggested as she went downstairs. Both of them were captured on her arrival. "Foreigners loved steak," she added and sat with them in the living room. "I'm on the same page," Misty said while nodding slowly with that idea of hers. "Let's add one then," Gavin said and agreed. "So, I will ask the maids to prepare a feast for the arrival of those Chefs?" Misty asked, asking for a confirmation. "Yeah. Tell them not to be pressured just because it will be chefs who are gonna eat their food," Gavin mentioned and chuckled. "Noted," Mi
Chapter 10Piercing "This is Chef Martin and Chef Liza. These are the people who will be with us. We're many, I know right." The Chef named Clyde said as he introduced the people who were with him. The Chef named Martin looks like a teenager while the Chef named Liza looks like a newbie in this field. "I'm Gavin Clyborne," he introduced and forced a smile. The stare of Chef Clyde at Luna didn't escape his eyes. Good thing, Luna was only smiling at Chef Liza. Without any hesitation, he grabbed her hand, which surprised Luna a bit. Her eyes went at him and then to their hands. "This is my wife, Luns Franco." He Finally introduced to cut that glance from Clyde. "What?" Clyde asked immediately. His lips parted as his eyes widened. He looked at Gavin and Luna with surprise. It seems like he was in awe and could not believe that Luna is actually taken, not just that, she's married. "When did you get married?" Clyde asked in surprise as he eyed Clyde. "I didn't invite a lot," Gavin rep
