5-I Don’t Feel Good

A month went by and I never saw Aaron, Fernando told me he went back to London. Something about a university offering a better job than the one he had here.

"Throw that pumpkin pie away."

I made a run to the bathroom and threw up. I think I caught a bug. I returned to the kitchen and sat down on the barstool at the kitchen island.

"Pumpkin pie, is one of your favorites, so I'm going to take a wild guess, and say that someone is-"

"Don't say it." I cut her off.

"Violet, I think it's time." Cindy told me.

"I know." I cried.

They both hugged me.

In my hands I held the results. I'm a month pregnant. I feel like I'm dreaming. This doesn't feel real. I promised myself I would finish my career and then settled down and babies could also wait.

After the doctor's appointment, I went to the only place that would make me feel better. I knocked on their door and seconds later, they opened it.

"Mom." I cried in her arms.

"Hey babygirl, what's wrong?" She rubbed my back to calm me.
