2.

Audrey:

My back ached and that was heavily proven by the soreness of my muscles as my back hit the bed. Yesterday was rough as heck. I never expected us to have had so many customers in one night. Asher tripped his plates twice, delivered the wrong orders more times than I could count and nearly lost his cool a lot.

I had to apologise frequently for him and his wild cursing when it hit him wrong and hard. We had closed late and since Asher's place was quite far and his car broke down, I invited him to pass the rest of the night at my place. And he couldn't have been more grateful since I spared him the thought of walking the lone street home late in the night.

I heard a thud and behold was Asher passed out on my floor with his front to the ground. He didn't even take off his coat or shoes. Well, who am I to judge him, neither did I. I yawned as my eyes craved to be shut, sleep was very well knocking on my door but I knew better to set my alarm before giving in to the seduction of my bed.

My eyes peeled open by the harsh ringing of my alarm clock. It was moments like this that made me detest that horrible contraption.

"Turn it off." I heard a groggy voice mumble.

I yawned as I stretched out my sore body, scratching my back while swallowing in, I sniffed. Mornings were never my thing. I hit the button on my clock and welcomed the silence.

Asher had very well gone back to sleep and I forced myself off the bed to get ready for my appointment with Martin. I had a lot of things to do today. I had no siblings and my parents were never around. My dad's a military doctor and my mother an architect. They were always on one trip or another. I always felt they were underpaid for the type of strenuous schedule they had. And I wasn't wrong. They took care of me but the money just wasn't enough. So I take care of myself. And let them take care of themselves and my sick grandmother. That was where most of their money went in and I wasn't complaining. I loved Grandma Pat and I hoped she'd get healed of her cancer.

I got into the shower, turning on the hot water to relax my muscles. I had just thirty minutes to get ready and I knew I'd make the time because quick showers were my thing. Having almost woken up late with just minutes to spare before school starts, I have to say I got blessed with my super power from the countless times that happened in high school. And I'm grateful for it.

I got out with a towel wrapped around me to find Asher lying face down on my bad. No doubt the floor got uncomfortable for him and so did his coat because he was lying in only his white plain T-shirt and black jeans. His converse sneakers were still on and I wasn't pissed because I planned to change the sheets earlier.

I pulled out a blue Jean and Ash designed T-shirt from my wardrobe. My black bra and black panties too. I headed into the bathroom to put them on and in a minute, I was out. I stared at myself in the mirror. Geez, was I pale, with eye bags too. My grey eyes looked stressed and my chocolate brown hair needed for something to be done about it.

I blew it dry with my blow dryer and pulled my messy curls into a bun ontop of my head. I had tendrils sticking out and around, escaping the bondage of the band. I wasn't really into make up but I was a lipgloss girl. I put on my boots and grabbed my black zip up marshmallow hoodie. I found my phone and cursed out loud. "Fuck! I forgot to charge it last night." I hissed and grabbed my phone from my bag pack, stuffing it into my back pocket and the charger into the pocket of my hoodie which was really deep.

I rushed downstairs, not having time for breakfast and dashed out of the house with my skateboard. I made a mental note to leave Asher a message once I'm with Martin. I wasn't bothered about leaving Asher alone at my place. It wasn't the first time I was doing that. Asher was used to crashing at my place and his parents didn't mind. They actually preferred him not being home all the time.

"Morning Martin." I panted while settling down on a chair.

"Geez, were you being chased by something or someone?" He arched a brow at me, watching me pant like a dying mammoth.

"No, I just didn't want to be late. That's all." I heaved.

"My thought is you didnt have breakfast..." he hummed, waiting for me to try to lie and I knew I couldn't because it was obvious. "Exactly. I've saved you a sandwich, I made it myself and it certainly doesn't have peanut butter. It's a Turkey sandwich." He said, dropping two bags on halved sandwiches on my table. "It was supposed to be my lunch but you can have it."

"Thanks. I owe you lunch today."

"Nah, it's not biggie. Eat up so we can get going. I own the morning swim and you own the afternoon swim. Pool closes by 7pm."

"I own the afternoon shift?" I was confused, I haven't spoken with the man he told me about yet.

"Oh, I uh, put in word for you. He didn't really care about a personal meet up as long as someone was interested on taking the slot. He just said to come in early with you." I smiled with gratitude at his effort.

I pulled him into a hug. His cologne intriguing my senses along with his shower scent. His black T-shirt hugged his chest well and his dark green cargo pants hanging below his waist and resting upon his black air jordans. I definitely did have a crush on him but I wasn't awkward about it. Besides, I didn't expect him to fancy an interest in me as I was younger than him. I was turning eighteen and he was turning twenty-one. I didn't see much to it, as it was barely an age gap. His red hair was in layers as his faze cap was slinged backwards.

"Alright Audri, keep doing that and you'd be awaking something." He said a little too blunt.

I immediately pulled away as he turned to a guy behind the counter who was wearing the black work uniform. "Take care of the place for me Blake."

"No problem big guy." The guy replied.

I stared at him as he shoved his hands in his pockets and began walking. His remark was still in my head but I thought nothing about it as it was so much like him to drop some comments like that once in a while when I took him by surprise and I'm not blaming him either. Sometimes, the things he did, did make some places come alive but I didn't want to ponder on it to much. My crush on him would die off soon anyways.

"Are we walking there?" I asked.

"Yeah. The pool isn't far but I brought my skateboard just in case. Did you bring yours?" He asked.

"Yeah, I definitely did but I forgot my helmet."

"Fuck that. I can't remember the last time I rode a skateboard with a helmet and all that." He sneered, showing his lackadaisical attitude. "And I haven't lost a tooth either." He said like it was a reputation to boast about.

"Your nose got smashed in it's place?" I teased.

"No. I got my nose broken when I fell in my bathroom four days ago." He was embarrassed to let out the cause of his injury. "But I let people think whatever they want about my wound because who'd guess it was gotten because of a bathroom accident."

"What were you doing in the bathroom to have you falling face down?" I asked.

"Pleasuring myself." He shrugged.

"You're disgusting." I really wasn't expecting to hear his confession and sooner, I had red ears.

"What! You asked!"

He wasn't wrong and I was sooner regretting enquiring about his wounds because the image I had in my head just wasn't sitting right with me. Not one bit.
