CHAPTER EIGHT : In the car

I held my breath for some seconds as i heard her name.

Oh no! It can't be.

" You mean Maureen mayor the sister of the billionaire famous swimmer Jack mayor ? " i asked her horrified and she nodded tiredly.

I gasped in surprise.

Should I be excited that i just hit a jackpot by saving the famous jack mayor's sister ?

I push down the thought away and look at han.

" Are you okay han ? " i asked him worriedly.

He has a cut on his lips but he's driving okay ... that's important.

I wouldn't like it if he drive us three to our death.

He nodded. " I'm fine " he replied glancing briefly at me through the visor.

I smile at him in response before turning to Maureen.

" What's your address? I will accompany you home myself. " I told her but she shook her head.

I stare at her and I notice faint bruises on her neck.

Is she been going through some pains?.

She isn't like the graceful lady I always stare at in the news.

Maureen mayor has been an elegant beautiful lady.

She has been famous for her good deeds to the needy some years back.

I always watch her being Interviewed everytime and I have like her the first moment I saw her on TV.

She's generous, wealthy and beautiful.

Why won't she when she's the daughter of the late mayor.

Her father is a very successful business man who partner with Mike my sponsor of claw foot club.

I heard sometimes that Mayor, Maureen's dad has a share in the claw foot club but I wasn't sure.

I couldn't find out because just suddenly mayor died in the hospital after a minor sickness.

It was all over the news as at that time.

I heard about how almost all the properties of Mayor was hijacked from the children of the late man by Mike, my sponsor.

Around that time I was far away shooting for a new season so I couldn't get the full story except at the end in the court it was revealed that Mike actually owns Mayor's property except only a mansion.

I can only imagine how devastated both Jack and Maureen would have been to find out their father's wealth isn't truly his.

I read it from the newspaper later on that jack and Maureen sold the only mansion left of their dad's and each of them start up a fresh start with their shares.

Luckily and successful, probably because he's the true son of Mayor.

Jack choose to go for swimming career and also to rebuild his father's business from the scratch.

He surprisingly rose to fame quickly but I wasn't surprised when I read about it because I know he has been a very good swimmer.

I watch him swim often on TV , I have always wanted to go for his show but my busy schedule won't permit me.

His business which he name after his dad. Mayor's creation became successful.

I heard he didn't allow his swimming career to hinder his duty as the CEO of Mayor's creation.

I'm so proud when I learnt he's doing greatly well and has build up his success by himself.

" I can't go home " I heard Maureen says interrupting my thoughts.

I turn to her obviously carried away completely by the Mayor's family drama.

" Why won't you go home ? Jack will be worried to death . " I replied her.

I did not know fully well about the Mayor's family except what I read in the papers and what I watch from the news on TV but I'm pretty sure jack will be excited to see his sister.

I stare at her and noticed she's not looking well.

Almost sick, and tired.

I reach out and held her hands.

I smile sweetly and said to her softly.

" Don't you think it will be unfair to jack if he wasn't told where you are ? " I asked her.

She look away and I saw tears coming from her eyes.

I was not fully surprised, she appears to be going through a lot.

I held her closer to me and gave her a hug as she sob against me.

" Jack must not see me like this, take me anywhere safe ... please " she begged.

My heart was about to burst from her plea.

I didn't Know when tears fell from my eyes as well.

I nodded and smile at her.

I will do her bidding for now, get her cleaned up and well taken care of and later we can talk about going home.

" To my dad's place han " I Said quietly to han who nodded before making a turn to the direction of my dad's house.

I know he will be glad to see me but also concerned about my guest.

For now all I want is to help out Maureen.

But still i wonder why she had met up with Zach Mike.

From what i know, The Mayor family and Mike family were enemy eversince the death of Mayor.

I'm very sure that Jack won't be happy if he heard his sister meet up with Zach Mike.

And why is he strangling her anyway ? 

It is so confusing, and I can't make Sense in what's happening.

I shut my eyes when i remember Zach's Expression when he saw me.

He has been very shock , i wonder what explanation he would give if i ever meet him again.

Not that i wanted to.

I'm very excited that i haven't give him my word of acceptance, it would have been a total shock to me for dating someone who's about to murder a woman and not just any woman.

Maureen mayor as at that.

Zach could definitely forget about our friendship or whatever that has been going on between us this few days.

For what i witness tonight i have concluded that I don't want to associate with him.

Though he will be my future sponsor, all relationship between us will definitely be related to business.
