Chapter 45: Steve and Nicky

"Where's this party at?" Nicky asked as she packed her bag with necessary clothing. If it was going to be a three-day event, she needed to be prepared.

"It's at Steve's house," Melissa replied casually.

"And why are you so comfortable with that idea?" Nicky questioned, her confusion evident. Ever since Melissa's incident with her ex, she had become cautious and second-guessed everything.

Melissa chuckled and said, "That's why you're coming with me, right?"

Nicky rolled her eyes. "Very funny. This party better be worth it because I'm giving up my relaxing weekend for it."

Once Melissa and Nicky finished packing, they returned to the living room to meet Steve. The three of them headed downstairs where Steve's car was waiting, accompanied by a convoy.

"Okay, you girls can get in," Steve said as he approached his car.

Nicky looked around, perplexed, and asked, "Who's going to drive? I see your bodyguards heading towards the other car."

Steve grinned and replied, "I am."
