Jack and Jazz stood looking out the dirty window. There don’t seemed to be anybody outside yet they both have that uneasy feeling all was not as it should be. They kept on watching, the sun slowly rising.“What’s that?” Jazz pointed into the sky. They both watched the darken approached.“It looks like a fleet of crows,” Jack said concerned. He watched their circling with narrowed eyes.“I don’t think this is a good sign, Jack.”“I agree.” He turned away from the window going to the door. He carefully opened it looking outside. He still no sign of people. Stepping onto the porch with the intent of circling the cabin. He only took two steps before the crows flew in an arrow directly towards him. He immediately stepped back inside shutting the door fast.He quickly went and stood in front on the window. The birds were circling around.“That’s very creepy. Did we step into a kind of horror scene, Jack?”“I don’t know but I think we might be trapped here.”“Looks like it.” Jazz watched the
“Jazz, I am not sure but we must find a way outside.” He looked directly at her not hiding the dilemma from her. He admits he need help. She smiled reaching for his hand, showing him, she has faith both of them will come forth with a plan.“I want to check something outside. Its very odd in this cabin.”“What?”“It’s clear for whatever reason neither you or Jason can go outside. I want to test the waters myself.”Jazz simply walked outside. The birds just sit watching her. She begins to walked away from the cabin. A hundred feet she turned and looked back… The cabin was picture perfect with a fantastic background of luscious green. Surprise she starts moving back.Jazz smile as she does her little jog like walk toward the cabin. It felt someone was walking with her, almost like she was part of someone else yet still herself. Lately no matter how early she gets out of bed the sun always manages to catch her outside. Smiling she watch her dog, Bruno coming towards her. When he was a pup
Jazz smiles…completely unaware how this was affecting Jack.“…seductive, captivating him in such a manner that he realises she was his for the taking; his mind, his thoughts and his heart spirals out of control. He found himself falling into a whirlpool of emotions, hot treacherous desire. He realises she was the dream he had once known only to discover her now.”He shook his head looking away but he was drawn to her. He moved to the cabin door, she stood outside… standing in the pouring rain, laughing clearly enjoying the water down her face.Jazz felt happy in the strange moment her heart feeling like bursting into a million’s pieces. The sense of sudden happiness sits on her shoulder like a heavy blanket of comfort.“Jack’s Jazz…” her voice sings just saying the name. “I know you loved me.”She stopped to look at him watching her through the window. She doesn’t know where that notion comes from but she just knows.Briefly she remembers how Allan Black played her for a fool. Her fac
Jack quietly realized Jazz was his shelter in the storm. He always knows for him to have peace of mind; he should stop driving himself crazy trying to understand what’s happening with him and around him. In this life sometimes things happened with no explanation. He should have faith like his Jazz.Peace of mind…Peace in the heart, handled like this…For now, he should smile like nothing was wrong. By letting go of his hurt, he might know peace of mind. He didn’t want to opened that chapter but it was splashed all over the internet. This now forced him to read that chapters. He has lost his youth but now recently he has gained something, Jazz…Jazz sits on the floor besides Jason who was taking a nap. She looked at her husband standing in front of the window looking outside. She suspects he was mostly looking inside, rediscovering who he was or might become. She can still recall her most recent moment of disaster created by her cousin. That brief but building storm at least didn’t fl
Jazz looked at Jason who had managed to fall asleep. She stayed with him for much of the time. Occasional her eyes travel to the man standing guard in front of the window. She can’t believe the situation they found themselves in. Earlier when she had that eerie walked with that other Jazz, realized again how strange like can be. Somehow, this cabin makes a person stepped back into a situation that has already passed.Very carefully she managed to moved away from Jason, who just turned on his side sleeping further. She moved to stand beside Jack. Wordlessly he placed his arm around her shoulder holding her against the frame of his body.“We have been here too long Jazz, and I sense if we don’t move soon, there would be trouble.”“You might be right. I have been thinking about that other ‘Jazz’. The way I figured; her sister must have hooked up with that man outside.”“I am starting to think he might have murdered her. When he saw you at the garage, figured you might be her ghost.”“Jas
Jazz hears a clock ticking. This has her confused. She opened her eyes. The cabin was completely dark. She blinked several times uncertain as to what she was looking at. It slowly dawns on her they were not alone. There was ‘things’ in the cabin with them.“Jack.” She tried calling the motionless man. Her voice was barely a whisper.Several eyes looked at her. The beating of her heart was thundering in her ears. Breathing harshly, trying to control her rapidly rising emotions.“Jack,” she tried calling again. She tried forming words but only a gasps of breath escape across her lips. The deep-seated urge to rise from the floor settles in her chest. Once the though entered her mind, she tried to move her body.It felt like she was being held tightly down on the floor. She instinctively tried to struggle but the hold seemed to just tightened more.Jack…her mind screamed.“Please,” she begged. The words were barely a whisper. Again, she tried opening her mouth, then she felt the hand clam
“Jack stop a moment,” Jason tries his best to catch his breath. They all stopped to take a breather. They can hear the dogs; the animals weren’t far behind judging from the braking. He looked around; the night was changing.“Guys, we should separate. Those dogs were trained to follow in a pack. I will give you guys a head start.”“I don’t like it Jack.” Jazz looked anxiously around. She was never afraid of dogs but these were trained to hunt.“I know, but that’s the only way we might have a chance to get out of this wood.”“Jack, I am scared.”“I know Jason. I am too so is Jazz. I never though things would turn out this way.”“Daddy must be very furious. Momma and me, we were gone longer this time.” Jason rubs his eyes trying to conceal his sudden tears.“Jason…we are currently in a bit of trouble but I do believe we can get out of it. I want you to follow Jazz. You two look after each other. We will get out of here. Now go please brother.”Jason quickly move to him and hugs him tight
“Jazz, where are you?” Jason looked around frantically. He run so fast when fear grabbed hold of him. He never realized he lost Jazz. Stumbling over his feet, he falls onto his face. Breathing hard as he tried getting back onto his feet.Looking around, he has no clue where he was. He tried walking back looking for Jazz but she was nowhere to be seen. He feels frightened not sure what to do.“What am I to do now?” he asked himself out loud. He keeps spinning in circles really not sure what to do. He finally decides to start walking back the way he had run.“Momma, what should I do?” he asked knowing there was no answer. He kept on walking. The wood even with the sun shining was a scary place. Silent tears streamed down his face but he kept on walking.“Jazz…”“Jack…”The eyes from between the branches watched the boy looking around uncertain. It was clear he was scared. A nasty smile played around her lips. She waits until the boy was passing her when she stepped into the path.“Hey y
