I try not to laugh.

Melinda smiles; shyly when I cup her cheek and run my thumb over it.

“I want you to take the heat suppressant.”

“Why? I thought all male wolves wanted free rein to take what they wanted from a she-wolf. Having her in heat makes it that much easier because they can’t be accused of rape?”
