Sheriff Morgan’s POV
For what it’s worth, this day I will add another batch of honour to my long lasting career.
I kept pacing in my house, throughout the evening as I prepare for the raid. The questions on my mind were many.
Smith has been a close friend, he is also Albert’s uncle. What could be his connection to the drug dealers and the death of Albert?
Anyway, he thought we will find out by tomorrow. We have planned for the arrest to be simple and efficient.
Emma’s POV
I was the first person to arrive at the designated location. I was looking as cool as possible. But in my mind I was nervous. The fear of the unknown is the greatest part of our job.
Few minutes later, Kayla, Vin, agent Tom and sheriff Morgan arrived.
“What of Lynn?” I asked Vin. “I don’t want her to be in danger” he explained.
Luckily for us the bar was empty unlike before except for the two guys wh
Lynn’s POVI came a bit late. Sheriff Morgan and the assailant are both in critical condition. Kayla was seated on the bare floor with her hands on her head. In a matter of minutes, reporters started swarming the whole vicinity like flies. This time around, there are more than enough evidence to convict smith for life.Kayla’s POVWe confiscated a lot of hard drugs and guns from the drawer and storage room.Among them we found two old wrist watches neatly wrapped in a cellophane bag.Agent Tom was the one addressing the reporters, Emma was throwing a fit. It seems like am the only one who still got it together.“The culprit is Smith Connor… we have enough evidence to convict him…one of his accomplices Chris was shot in the raid…” I finished addressing the reporters.Emma’s POVIf only time would be reversed, I would have done that. However, the deed have been done, we do
Kayla’s POV “Maybe Melissa have heard the news and decided to clear her head before coming back. We have to give her some time,” I said as a matter of fact. For me I have not gotten over the horror of the shoot out and the pool of blood I was immersed in. For what it’s worth we all need to rest tonight. Chris’ POV I woke up to find myself handcuffed to the bed. I saw the silhouette of two officers guarding the door to my room. “Chris, look what you have done to yourself. From a petty thief to a full blown criminal.” I thought to myself. Then I started reminiscing about the shoot out. I then discovered that Smith used me as a cover. The same thing he did with Max. “Psycho!” I cursed under my breath. At least the television was on. The news I heard shocked me. “Around 6:40pm this evening, the police identified the culprit for the murder of Albert Connor-Mckinney and Mary Adele White. The culprit is a middl
Emma’s POV I didn’t know my parents had history with Smith. They were best of friends. “Was he always shady?” I asked. “No” was the response. My dad explained that they met in Winster High School and became friends. “What about Collete?” I asked. I could see the feeling of pain and helplessness weigh down on my dad. “She died years ago, 19 years ago to be precise.” “But I don’t understand why Smith will do that to Melissa’s son.” “There have always been disparity between them my dad explained. Melissa always feel like she was better than Smith. That became worst after Smith dropped out of college.” “Do you know why he dropped out of college?” I asked. My dad shrugged. Mrs Stewart’s POV “She used to be Albert’s girlfriend?” I asked about Kate. Emma nodded. “I know that Connor dropping out of school has something to do with Collete” I answered Emma’s question. Emma’s POV This is getting int
Mrs Stewart’s POV This Kate bears a striking resemblance to Kennedy. Well maybe my mind is playing games on me, I concluded with a sigh of resignation. Emma’s POV I was about to ask another question, then I saw Kate coming to the parlour. I kept my mouth shut. We quickly changed to another topic. “Hope you like the room?” I asked her. “It is great,” she answered. Kate’s POV “I like that painting hanging by the door way,” I complimented. “Thank you dear,” Mrs Stewart said coyly. I quickly swallowed my next question about the painting. I knew she doesn’t want to discuss about it. For a moment, I think I remembered Mr Stewart’s name: Charles. I felt a prompting to do that. I was battling in my mind whether to call him or not to call. What if I am wrong? I would look like a complete idiot. Finally I summoned the courage… “Uncle Charles?” I called doubting myself. Everybody in the dinning room turned towards
Kate’s POV Now I realized that these flashes in my memory were not déjà vu moments but my past. “Uncle, you don’t have to be. I was lost myself for years. I clearly forgot everything about my childhood, my parents or their friends. The only thing I remembered from my childhood is my name and that of my parents. Probably because the social worker kept emphasizing on their names: Kennedy Ahmed Omar and Collete Omar.” I came to the realization that since I met Stanley and Emma I have always let my guards down around them maybe this was the reason. Emma’s POV I know Stanley will be as shocked as we are when he hears that Kate is our childhood playmate Zainab. “What else do you remember?” I asked. “Nothing else,” she answered. “ I have always been having these flashes of memory in my dreams, but I have never considered it part of my memory. This is the only moment I have been dreaming about for some time,” she explained. Mr
Emma’s POV Smith is really a scary guy, I thought. He knew what he was doing, all of us were just pawns in his chessboard. He knew about Kate and all, yet he made use of her situation. Kate’s POV “Smith is beyond evil.” Now that I think of it, he met me when I was still a teenager. Having been through various foster homes, I was returned back to an orphanage when I was 14 years. Later, I finished high school and decided to leave the orphanage. Tanner was the first person I met that took pity on me. He took me in from there we started dating. He abused me several times, raped me countless times. Once, I wanted to commit suicide. He came back on time that day. He took me to the hospital. After my recovery he found work for me in Smith’s bar and lounge. Tanner introduced him as his friend. “How did you know Smith?” Emma asked. Emma’s POV My detective instincts were very much awakened. I wanted to kn
Kate’s POV I had a very beautiful night sleep. One could not imagine the kind of shock I passed through yesterday. I stretched myself on the bed, occasionally turning to my sides. Sometimes I hugged the pillows. Then, I remembered that Melissa have not called me. I picked up my phone and called her. The response was still the same. I became a little worried for her. I got out of bed. As I was stepped out of my room. I heard the melodious tone of Mrs Stewart’s voice resonating from the kitchen. She is already up making breakfast for us. “Auntie, good morning” I greeted her. “Hope you had a wonderful night?” she asked with a smile. I nodded in affirmation. I headed to the parlour, there I saw Emma and uncle Charles listening to the morning news. I greeted them and went back to the kitchen to help Mrs Stewart. Mrs Stewart’s POV I was not surprised when Zainab offered to help me prepare breakfast. “You don’t have to
Smith’s POV Now that everyone in the county have already known my secret, there is no need to hide. However, I made a decision that, the people who hurt me must all pay for it. I won’t die alone. Melissa, Charles and Camilla must bear the pain of my revenge. When I mocked her, there was this kind of fear that was written all over her face. “You will soon have some company,” I said to her with assurance. “Let me go, you bastard!” was her reply. “Do you still remember Charles, Camilla, Kennedy and Collete?” I asked her. Her eyes widened with fear. That’s exactly what I like. “Don’t worry, you’ll be catching up with them very soon,” I said to her and left. Melissa’s POV For the first time since I was abducted, I cried. “Why was he getting everybody involved?” I thought. I kept shouting, but I could only hear the echoes. It was like a boomerang, everything I say comes back right at me. Mayor’s POV
