Chapter 22
I woke up abruptly from the sound of something crashing on the floor. I instantly got alarmed but ease when I saw it was just Elijah with a tray in hand. I wrapped the bedspread around my naked chest as Elijah placed the tray filled with food on the bed.
"Good morning" he murmured with a sheepish smile. "Morning" I said while running my hand through my tangled hair.
"Smells good" I mumbled inhaling the delicious smell of pancakes. Yes Pancakes!!
"Not as good as you do" The king said with a smirk playing on his plump lips.
"Stop it" I murmured almost inaudibly but im pretty sure he heard that for her chuckled softly.
I sigh when I took a bite from one of the pancakes drenched in syrup, it felt like I have not eaten in years. I offered some to Elijah but he declined saying he would have breakfast later.

Elijah's lips kept opening and closing as he tried to form words. "Y-you remember.." He Finally stammered, his hands fisting the wet grass underneath us.I got up, stumbling a few times and Elijah tried helping me but I snapped at him slapping his hands away. "Don't touch me!" Right now I am in my room packing a few things that would be leaving with me back to crestfall pack. I opened the drawer next to my bed and picked up the book I put there. I woke up with my eyes red and puffy from crying. I sighed as I flinged the blue duvet over my body and got out of bed. Its being a few days after that incident and I could not sleep every single night for I kept on seeing Natasha's lifeless face.I couldn't sleep this night too, I kept toasting and turning on my bed and eventually I decided to go for a run in the woods to burn up some fuel. Opening the door to my room, I cringe when it made a noise but continued my journey outside the house.I released a sigh when I was finally outside and jogged barefoot to the woods. The sky was dark and the moon hid behind the clouds. For others it might not be safe for them to be walking alone in the woods but I felt free, free from my problems.I found a perfect spot behind a large tree to shift into and I quickly strip from my clothes.
