CHAPTER 5.
"Alpha Ruco, the father of your mates, who you rejected will be here any moment. He'll be here to know who was brave enough to reject his sons, so you might wanna get ready to meet him when he arrives."Seated in the grand chambers, I listened as the news of the Alpha from another pack's impending visit reached my ears from my father's voice which was void of emotions. That was the first time he spoke to me like that, but I wasn't heartbroken either. My heart remained unmoved despite how he had said it, probably to put some fear in me.I was so angry at the sight of them and I had no interest in these men, safe from the fact that I was focused on revenge for what they had done to me.I was determined to make it clear to the visiting Alpha that I had no intention of accepting his sons but saying such to my father might likely cause an uproar, so I just kept quiet to avoid attracting anyone's wrath. At noon while I was with my father, the chamber doors swung open, and there he stood, the father of my supposed mates. He looked confident, unaware of who I was even though I recognized him instantly. He exchanged pleasantries with my father and as he began speaking about how pained his sons had been about being rejected, irritation bubbled within me."They have been deeply saddened by the way things turned out, so I came to know if we could sort this out with your daughter." he said, his words falling on deaf ears. I watched as he rambled on, his voice grating on my nerves.I clenched my fists in anger as I glared at him while sitting there, recalling the pain and agony I had endured at the hands of his sons in my previous life. How could he stand there, speaking about them being sad and angry, as if that would undo everything they had done to me? That wasn't enough to take me back and save the body of the innocent girl I was living in."Your sons took another wife, didn't they?" I blurted out, my voice dripping with bitterness."And now you're here, telling me to accept them back? I am never going to come back! You go tell them to fuck themselves." Even though my father gave me signals to respect him and calm down, I couldn't hold back my emotions because each time he tried to speak about them being innocent, it just vexed me so much. I stood up, my anger getting the best of me."You think I'll just forget the years of torment?" I yelled, my voice cracking with emotion. "You're delusional!"Alpha Ruco's face turned red with anger."What are you even talking about?! What years of torment?!" Then turning to my father he said. "Control your daughter, before I make rash decisions you wouldn't like." My father looked torn between defending me and maintaining the alliance. But before he could even reply, I fired back at Alpha Ruco."I won't be controlled!," I retorted, giving my father's efforts to calm me a cold stare. He was shocked."Not by you, not by anyone. Because nobody understands what-" my words caught in my throat as the horrifying memories passed through my mind again.I continued to exchange heated words with Alpha Ruco, every reply more biting than the last. His frustration only goaded my determination to insult him the more. In the end, he slammed his hand on the table and rose to his feet while snarling at me, he was almost frothing."Our alliance with this pack is over," he declared, his voice echoing through the chamber. And there was a moment of silence as we all tried to process what he had just said. Without another word, Alpha Ruco turned around and signalling his guards, they made for the door.We all watched as the door closed with a bang and he was gone. My father's face contorted in anger immediately at what I had done, and he turned to me with a very angry look crossing his features. That was the first time he was real angry at me."Look at what you've done!" he yelled, his voice weighty with disappointment at what I had done. The thing was, I didn't even give a hoot about the consequences, but I was happy that I had given the man an account of how angry I was. I had finally stood up to the man responsible for my past suffering. It might not have been the satisfaction which I craved, but it was a step towards the revenge I desperately craved. That was the moment a thought hit me, but my father's rants as he continued to berate me made it a bit hard to think clearly. The idea slowly formed in my mind and soon I stopped him."Wait a minute," I interrupted him, rising from my throne chair. And without waiting for his response, I rushed out of the chamber, determined to catch up with Alpha Ruco before he left the Pack, if he wasn't gone already."Where are you going?!" My father shouted, but I was gone like the wind. He must have followed me because I heard chairs being moved. If I really wanted this revenge, then I needed to be with them.Being with them would make it easier for me to punish them for their accusation and evil they had done to me. Outside the chamber, I found the Alpha and his entourage preparing to depart. I swallowed my pride and walked towards him immediately."Hey!" I called when I had gotten close enough. He turned back, and was a bit surprised to see me standing there. Not minding the Pack members around, I knelt before him, a false sense of remorse on my face."I'm sorry for my outburst," I began, my voice laced with fake sincerity which he didn't notice."I'm willing to give your sons a chance to prove themselves, to come into my life as my true mates. I was just not thinking straight and that's why whatever I said to you back there left my mouth. And for that, I am deeply sorry." Alpha Ruco's expression softened as he glanced at me for a while, as if processing if my words were genuine."Stand, Princess. You shouldn't be kneeling." he said, placing a hand on my shoulder. "I just don't know any better way I should have apologised, considering how I must have hurt you with my stupid insults. I am deeply sorry.""I'm glad to hear that," he said, a hint of a smile on his lips.Little did he know that my words were far from genuine. My plan was wicked and cunning, and I was ready to execute it to perfection.Alpha Ruco was very happy after her change of heart and the triplets were more overjoyed and thrilled by how things had happened in that short span of time. They were very confident that they had got her now, that everything would go back to normal and that they would be able to live together, happily. But her intentions were far from pure. "I am glad you have talked sense into your girl." Alpha Ruco had said to her father, his face beaming with blessedness and peace. After that he ordered her to get ready as he would be sending his warriors to bring her to his Pack the next day. He also added that she needed to look as beautiful as possible for her mates since she might be presented right after her arrival to the Pack. She nodded, the fake, insincere grin still flashed across her face. She went straight to her room right after Alpha Ruco was gone, ignoring her father who was trying to tell her how she had made a very wonderful choice by accepting the triplets. She wondered if he sa
CHASE.The three of us had agreed the night before to relieve and dissipate the stress that we had been accumulating throughout the whole week. So the next morning, we left very early just before dawn to the woods to engage in some running and shed off the terrible feeling. As we walked through the woods that morning, everywhere felt quite peaceful and the tranquillity just felt so distant, because it had been very long since I felt that kind of peace. Pack duties and the constant quarrel between our two mates had robbed us of our leave. The only sound that could be heard as we trudged to a spot was the rustling of leaves, the cracking of twigs as we stepped on them and the dawn chorus, birds chirped merrily as they announced the coming of a new day. What was more, I was particularly determined to make the most of the day and go back to the Pack later on with a sound mind and soul. But something led to another and we soon forgot about what we came here to do. We sat on the trunk of
CHASEI blacked out for a moment but I revived quickly. My senses knew what would happen if we didn't get out of the shitty situation we found ourselves in. "It's a Wendigo!! It's a f*cking Wendigo!!" Damon screamed on top of his lunga line the mindlink. "F*ck!" I moaned as I tried to get up from where I was lying. My senses were distorted and I still couldn't organise myself. There was a distant ringing somewhere at the base of my head. Soon after that my eyes flashed open and that was when I saw what was going on. Damon's wolf latched at the creature, struggling with it. He was biting and scratching and growling, doing everything possible to kill the elk-like creature but the Wendigo just seemed so strong. He could barely do anything and we knew what would happen if we didn't kill this thing. They were a very stubborn set of creatures and they never stopped fighting till they were dead. "Hold on!" I yelled back, standing from the ground. My mind was still shrouded in a haze but I
ARIA.After the sudden apparition was gone we stood there in shock, our hearts thudding loudly in our chests as each and everyone of us tried to make sense of what we had just seen. The extraordinary scenes that we had just witnessed left us speechless. And to add to that, the power that had surged through me which ultimately drove away the Wendigos that had attacked us. I didn't know how it happened but we would have been dead if it didn't happen. Other Wendigos were on their way to attack us as soon as we defeated the one that had nearly killed my mates. The power that had emanated from me at that point was something I had never felt or seen or used before. It was so strange and till this moment I was still trying to piece together everything that had happened back there. It was just so confusing and I wished I could get an explanation for what had happened. We helped each other up, tending to our wounds. Axel didn't have to do anything, he sat there, resting from the little battle
ARIAEveryone of us was still bewildered by the wild scenes we had witnessed that day and even though it was night, we were all questioning ourselves about what it meant and how it had to do with us. We knew we were connected to the structure in some way. The fact that it had helped us back there in the woods and we had seen it again our way back said a lot and we were desperate for answers. That night I was sitting alone in my room. It was very silent and the only sound that could be heard was the crackling of flames. I was out of the bathrooms and i was lost in thought about everything yet again. Everything felt like a very bad dream and like a leech, persistent and unforgettable. The statue, then the hooded figure and the strange power power had emanated from me which had driven the Wendigos away. I knew there was a reason all that happened today but the reason was what I had no single idea of. I was still puzzled about the whole thing when my door creaked open without a knock.I
ARIA. The strange happenings didn't stop, in fact it even seemed to get worse. The village leader in front of them gave them directions on what they were supposed to do immediately, asking them to gather a group of trusted Pack members, probably guards so we could investigate the source of the strange events that had been happening ever since. We were all determined to eradicate them and protect the Pack from any form of danger that might be coming our way. There was no denying the fact that these strange events might be very dangerous in the long run. Even though some of them seemed harmless at first, at some point things might escalate and they would be very dangerous. We didn't want to take chances though, considering what we had experienced in the past few days. I exchanged a glance with Damon who nodded at the man's request before turning back. I wondered where we were going to begin from."So what is it going to be?" I asked him, looking around. There were a few villagers ar
ARIA.Once we arrived back at the park the guards were summoned immediately and asked to stand in the moat right in front of the Packhouse. And after that the best guards were selected, the rest were asked to return back to their posts. We then went in immediately to discuss how we were going about the mission and how we were supposed to take down any of the strange statues or Monsters that would attack us on our way. We were very sure that you were going to be attacked but there was no idea on what it was going to be this time. We had no idea if it was going to be the wendigo's or the black figure that had appeared last time but whatever it was we were very determined to bring it down. We decided at the end to begin our mission that night. As soon as we were done planning out everything we needed we immediately began to arm the guards. After that Axle gave his speech and commended them on being chosen for this mission. Armed with torches and weapons that we had gathered from the ar
ARIA.It has been two days since we came back from the woods after meeting the figure but I still felt terrified of what had happened that day. I remembered how the figure had suddenly disappeared after congratulating us. We were all left to wonder what the congratulation was all about and till this moment none of us had any idea what the figure was or why it said to us. It was a very bright morning by the way and the sun already cast golden hues across the sky. The pack members were already going about attending to their works or expertise. There was also a sense of excitement in the Packhouse. We had received an invitation from the white blood back the day before and we had to honour the invitation. Wearing their dresses, the alphas and their Lunas Ella and Aria set out to the White Blood Pack in their Fortune 500 Suvs. It was a very long drive before we arrived at the white blood Pack. For me the journey was one of scenic landscapes . I stared out of the window throughout most o
