Chapter Twenty-Eight

“You can see that I’m perfectly fine now, dad. You don’t need to keep staying here, I’m sure you have tons of work to do at the office.”

Scott has been pacing the length of the hospital room for the last few hours with Harken sitting numbly in the corner looking at his phone. He wants Scott to leave just as much as Noel but knows the minute he opens his mouth, wanting to have a moment’s peace with her to calm his anxiety. Despite her sitting there completely intact, he can’t shake the foreboding feeling he has felt since leaving the crash scene.

Abel left an hour ago, claiming he was going to go back and check out the cameras again, giving Harken the idea to check if any neighbors have cameras around the Ashford house.
