The day of my coronation loomed over me. It had been a week since my Charlie had been gone and the pain only seemed to get worse. Steel had disappeared completely, ignoring me again due to the heartache of losing our mate. He insulted me to no end before becoming completely silent, but I couldn’t really blame him. How could I let her be kidnapped? I failed her as a mate.

Griffen had been out with the men, searching relentlessly. He kept me updated, but I could tell he was becoming frustrated at her being gone too. They seemed to have a connection between them as well, which warmed my heart but also broke it at the same time. He missed her too, and I could tell he was frustrated every day he came back searching for her.

My mother had taken it upon herself to arrange the Coronation. She had me at suit fittings, dress rehersals, food tasting. She was acting as if I was getting married, which made me sick. Although any male would have gone
