"You kidnapped me, and now you're out of gas?" I laugh like a madman, powerless to keep myself from snorting. The sun is beaming, and we are stranded in the desert. "Whose plan was this? Fire them from their job immediately! How can you forget to buy gas when you're about to kidnap someone?"

The ugly man, with rotten yellow teeth and the creepy haircut, growls at me. His name is Bob, and I've learned that he doesn't have a wife or children to come home to—Marcus murdered them after Bob failed to kidnap Ryan and Amelia in the past.

Bob lives a sad life, but I think he has a good heart beating inside his chest. For the last couple of hours, I've been trying to make friends with him, and I think it's working—he is in between opening up and hating me at the same time.
