The familiar culprit

Freda's POV

With fear and fret visible all over my body, I trembled as I went into the car as instructed. I could not help but inhale deeply to calm my racing heart, but each breath I took only made my heart race faster. I took a deep breath, not knowing what was about to happen to me at that moment. “Who could want me dead?” I asked myself as I sat there at the back of the car, blindfolded, and the only thing on my mind was Hardin. I wished he was here to save me from the grasp of these unknown men.

Shortly after, I felt a sharp pain at the back of my head, I quickly brought my hand to rub the place I felt the pain. I had just been hit with the back of the gun. I felt an instant headache and groaned in response to the pain.

“Please don't hurt me.” I pleaded and as if they were angry that I talked. They hit me again in the same spot and this time, I felt the intense pain and the only to respond to that pain was to shut down completely and go unconscious. I lost consciousness immediate
