Wondering if it was right to trust him

Freda's POV

“Hold it this way,” Hardin said softly into my eyes as he directed me to hold the gun firmly while placing his hand on mine. I could not help but tilt my head slowly to give him a smile and returned my gaze to the gun, heaving a sigh. He arranged my hand on the gun, and I nodded my head slowly as I adjusted my grip and aim.

“Just like that.” He said. My heart bloomed in excitement as he was training me on the use of guns. I could not wait to be a pro. Perhaps I will be going on missions with him, I thought.

“Should I fire?” I asked, slowly, as I tilted my head to look at him.

“We have not gotten to that part yet.” He said, and I heaved a sigh of disappointment as I tilted my head back to the gun and aimed again.

“When will it be the time?” I asked absentmindedly, and he came close to me from behind, wrapping his hands around my waist and whispering into my ears.

“Very soon.” He said softly in a low tone and I chuckled, leaning backward and he cleared his throat. I cannot
