Chapter 06

ARIA's perspective

I watched him leave.

When he was gone, I locked the door and hurried to find my shoes. It was placed beside the bed, I put them on.

I ran to the window and looked down. It was the second floor, why did he lie that I was on the fourth floor?

Did he think that would stop me from escaping?

He got to be kidding.

If I could get on the roof and slide down and land on my butt, it wouldn’t hurt, right?

I just have to give it a try.

I need to get home and away from him and these people!

I climbed over the window and walked carefully on the roof, then I sat down on the edge of the roof and pushed my hands back.

Striking myself to fall on the ground, I did not fall on my butt as I had thought but ended up falling on my stomach and face.

Fuck!

I winced in pain but forced myself up, peeping quickly if someone had heard me fall and was coming after me.

I didn’t see anyone, neither was the front door opened.

Maybe they have agreed to let me go, which sane man would build a mansion in a forest? In the middle of nowhere?

I held my ribcage and started to run through the woods, trying to find my way through the endless amount of trees.

I was running, as if I was going around the tall trees in circles. I have no idea where I was, if it was in the right direction or not.

My feet were starting to hurt, I was almost out of breath. I planted my hands on my hips when I was tired of running, I turned abruptly when I heard a growl from among the trees.

I ran faster, and then I heard the sound of traffic, I was close to being rescued.

“She’s around here.” I heard the voice of my adductor, how did he find me so quickly?

I was ready to run forward when a strong arm grabbed my wrist and pulled me backward into his arms, my body hit his chest.

“Let me go!” I screamed and struggled with his hold but he lift me from below my ass and threw me over his shoulders without saying a word to me.

He began to walk back to the place I was running away from.

“Somebody help!” I screamed if anyone could hear.

“Quiet, you could attract an enemy.” He flared and smacked my ass, my face flushed with anger and embarrassment.

“You are the enemy! Don’t touch me!” I shouted, hitting my fist on his back.

“Let me go this instance.”

“I told you, you can not run away from me.”

I tried to wriggle free but he was super strong, and he had his grip tightened around my legs.

I felt like I was going to pass out in his hold.

“Stop fighting with me, you will get hurt.” He warned and marched down the path of the forest that leads to the house.

I gave up when I couldn’t take his hands off me or stop him from carrying me that way.

We got back to the house, and he took me upstairs. The door of the room was open, he strode in and dropped me on the bed.

“Don’t ever do this again.” His brows were knitted together in a frown.

“You are not going to have me locked here!”

He points towards the window.

“Look, I have that nailed, you won’t be able to open it, if locking you in this room would be the only way to keep you in here, I’m going to do it. I would not take your careless act.” He spat out.

“What if something had happened to you.” He lowered the tone of his voice and huffed.

“Nothing happened and if you didn’t come after me, I would have been home by now!”

“Nothing happened?” He roared furiously, I flinched at the sound of his voice, each time I stared at him, the more scary he became.

“You shouldn’t talk to the Al-boss with such disrespect.” The guy beside him scolded me, I remembered him from the car, he was the one who injected me. I eyed him suspiciously.

“Enough, Silas.”

Silas exhaled heavily and stepped back, standing close to the exit. He kept his head down tapping his feet impatiently on the tiled floor.

He exhaled and sat beside me on the bed. He tucked my hair behind my ears. His fingers linger on my face, as he slowly cradles them on my cheek.

“You hurt yourself.” His voice softened, I doubted if he was the same man who raised his voice at me earlier.

His other hand touched the side of my stomach and I winched.

“What if some wild beast came after you?”

“You were there before that got to happen.”

He withdrew his fingers from my face and took my hands in his large hands.

“Stay with me.” His voice was almost a whisper. “That’s all I ask.”

“How did you know I ran out of the house?”

I wanted to know why nobody stopped me when I was running out of the house. And who was watching me? I know someone was watching me when I was running out of the house, why didn’t the person stop me from running away?

I wanted to ask him all that but I restrained myself from it.

“I have my ways.” He squeezed my hands and his teeth flashed in a grin.

“I want to leave, why can’t you let me go?”

“Because I can not let you leave.” He glanced up at me.

“Why can’t you let me leave?”

“We aren’t talking about this. I will let you have some rest, and someone will attend to your wounds. So don’t try to run away from here because I will always find you.” His Blue eyes flashed with intensity. He rubbed his thumb affectionately over my hand.

I was terrified being around them, and not knowing what these nutjobs could do to me.

What kind of a man was he? And why did he kidnap me?

Something wasn’t right, when he touched me, I craved more from his touch. When he’s close, he makes my heart throb, and my body willingly submits to him whenever he touches me.

He was no doubt the most attractive man I have ever seen, any woman's ideal man but there was something about him that I couldn’t put my finger on.

“Who are you?” The words fell out of my lips before I could stop them.
