[Seraphine's POV]

"Alright." I decided to comply with his words after thinking for a long time. If I could guess correctly, this mysterious Alpha was not the type to keep a cool head.

He was not like Cassian; he would not hesitate to hurt me if my words crossed his patience. I had to be careful from now on.

"So, what kind of opponent are you talking about?" I asked. I lowered my position slightly to make him loosen his guard. All for the sake of making sure he knew I wasn't in a rebellious mode here.

"You have fighting power, don't you? Use it to fight against me. Right here, right now. But remember one thing, I won't forgive your actions if you dare to look into my mind."

This was the second time he warned me about not using mind-reading abilities. It seemed like he intentionally stressed me out by tapping his foot on the floor, creating a loud noise.

And the sound of that tapping made me even more aware that this room was silent, with only the two of us remaining. I was helpless bec
