Chapter 11

For the next two days, Curtis did not return home.

Margot was alone in their room every day. She would also eat and go to school alone.

Her finals were approaching. All the students were focused on revising for their exams. However, whenever Margot sat at her dorm's study table, thoughts about Curtis would flood her mind.

She would think about what he was doing. She wondered if he treated Tammy the way he treated her when they were together.

Margot also wondered if they had any physical contact.

She questioned if Curtis had missed her at all—even if only for a brief moment.

She didn't even hear her roommates talking to her.

"Hey Margot, what are you thinking about? Let's go. It's time to eat," Quinn shouted.

Margot came back to her senses and looked at Quinn. She laughed dryly. "I'm not hungry. You guys can go ahead."

"What's been going on with you for the past two days? You've been acting restless. It's as if you've just experienced heartbreak. Is everything alright?"
