Curtis would undoubtedly be concerned if Margot didn't adhere to his instructions.

Upon hearing Curtis's words, a mixture of warmth and pain enveloped Margot's chest. She blinked her big eyes, tears once again welling up.

Baffled, she questioned, "If you're letting me go, why do you still want to find me?"

Crafting a casual explanation, Curtis replied, "You know, I just don't want my wife facing an uncertain future, living like a stray dog in a strange place. So, stick around where I can keep an eye on you.

"If you're doing well, I won't bother you. But if life throws you a curveball after leaving my domain, I'll step in and bring you back."

With a slight pout, Margot lay there, genuinely reluctant to leave Curtis, who had always been considerate of her.

However, staying with him while he was with Tammy made her uneasy.

After a moment of contemplation, Margot nodded and agreed, "Fine, I'll show you that even without you around, I can make my life better than it is now."
