Margot halted abruptly, starting without turning back. "You don't trust me, so I need to find evidence to prove my innocence."

Curtis found it quite amusing. He walked up and stood in front of her, peering down.

"Innocent? Which of the things I just mentioned was unfair to you?"

She met his gaze and retorted defiantly, "All of your words are unjust to me."

"Margot, you can argue all you want, but no matter how you argue, I won't believe your nonsense anymore.

"Listen to me. From now on, you stay here, and you're not allowed to go anywhere. Even if it's death, you can only die here."

Through clenched teeth, he uttered each word, radiating an icy presence as if he could consume her whole.

Despite his intense demeanor, she was determined to depart, but an exit seemed nonexistent.
