IANNA’S POV

I struggled getting up from the ground and wiped the corners of my mouth that were bleeding. I looked at my mother and I only saw hatred in her eyes. It hurt to see that; I should be used to it by now, but I am not.

Every child out there longs for the love of a parent which I never got; every time I wish my mother could show me some resemblance of love but each time she never does.

“Mom, I never asked to be mated to Jeyden…” she cut me short so rudely. “What do you know about mates, huh? You think the Moon Goddess would bless someone like you with a good mate like the alpha’s son? How delusional.”

Well, I guess she was right, Lissa was the good one, the one who deserves all the good things, and I don’t deserve anything. “You will stay away from Jeyden, and you will not tell anyone he is your mate.”

What good will it do to stay away from him? The mate bond is already there, and it will keep pulling us together, what do I do then?
