Sammy swung back and forth in the hammock beneath the shady trees, her eyes closed as her mind wandered miles away, towards a different place and a different time. In her mind’s eye, she saw the silhouette of her heart, cast in shadows. Tears streamed down her face, twisted with sadness. Her heartache ran so deeply, it felt as though it would break into a million pieces. She was such a different person once she discovered the meaning of love then in the blink of an eye….

Sammy felt the sadness wrap around her with such force, she was startled into wakefulness, gasping for breath and holding her hand across her heart. It dawn on her that she really was alone, her mind kept remembering….
