LEXI.

“Do you need help?” Scott’s voice sent shivers down my spine, and I felt my knees buckle from fear.

I shouldn’t have relaxed. I should have checked if he was already free from where he was.

I slowly spun my body around, ready to act bravely, when his hand gripped my jaw, and the next thing I knew, I was dragged to the other side of the corridor, and my back slammed against the wall. Pain rippled through my whole body as tears formed in my eyes.

I shouldn’t cry. I shouldn’t cry.

He liked it when I did.

“Did you think you could get away from me, little mouse? Didn’t I tell you I would come back for you?”

He pressed his body against mine, and my hold on the unfolded boxes tightened. It was my only barrier against his body.

“Let me go…” I forced myself to speak, but my jaw was hurting. I didn’t feel this pain for a long time, and I forgot how painful his grips were.

“I heard you have a baby… What happened to ‘I’m infertile?’ Huh? You fucking liar! Where is he?”
