They had an awkward silence between them and no one dared to speak, not until Dr Grayson cleared his throat.

“I apologize for the delay.” Dr Grayson's voice was calm, though his expression showed unease. “I was able to find what you asked for, but I'm afraid I cannot hand it over to you.”

Mr Cleff's expression twisted with anger, his mouth pressed into a tight line. He was clearly not happy with this unexpected turn of events, and his eyes narrowed as he shot Dr Grayson a look of disappointment.

Dr Grayson had clearly stated that Mr Cleff would have full access to all office files, including those from the past. But now, he was changing the rules, leaving Mr Cleff confused. Why was Dr Grayson going back on their agreement?

Before Mr Cleff could speak, Grayson beat him to it.

“The file is password-protected,” Dr Grayson said, his voice carrying a hint of apology. “I can't access it either, even with my clearance. I'm sorry, but I can't break the encryption.”
