HOME COMING

     We stepped out of the hospital and inhaled the fresh early morning air. We were out of there for good. Trevor heaved a deep sigh and led me into a taxi.

       "Where did you get money from?" I asked after we stepped into the taxi.

      "Shouldn't you be asking me how we were able to come by taxi at such an hour instead? Aren't we lucky people?" he replied.

       "This isn't some remote village. Cars can operate 24/7." I retorted.

       "Behind the hospital is an A T M machine." began Trevor.

       "Where to?" demanded the taxi driver while adjusting the mirror.

        "Take us to the farthest hotel from here." Trevor told him.

       I pulled his arm and let go of it immediately he groaned. "Sorry. Farthest hotel?" I whispered.
