Theodore has finally been processed in Miller Valley, and now, we're on our way back to Burton Grove. This is the happiest day of my life, and I will never forget this until the day I die. Finally, the end of Burton Grove's nightmare. At last, every sleepless night, every stress, every sacrifice, all of it were worth it.
Oliver was driving, while I sat at the passenger seat beside him. It was a beautiful day. The sun rises high in the sky, the wind blows a comfortably cool air. If there won't be any troubles along, we will be back in Burton Grove at the next two hours. My only wonder is that Theodore was so quiet, too quiet for my taste.
"He's awfully quiet." Oliver commented.
"Don't mind him. He's probably plotting a way to escape."
I saw Oliver smirked while staring at Theodore. He's obviously thinking the same thing as I am. We both know how Theodore's mind works. We can't give him a window of opportunity to escape. That is the reason why I didn't
When the news that Theodore Burnett has finally been apprehended spread in Burton Grove, people called for an impromptu celebration. The moment that Chris, and Oliver arrived in town with Theodore Burnett, they noticed that there are tables outside every houses, and loud music everywhere. It's like the whole town is having some kind of festival. They had to honk repeatedly in order to get past the people celebrating everywhere. It was a good thing that they were using a heavily tinted car, because if not, they would be surprised at how people would have been hoarding around them before then got to the police station. Both of them had no idea that the people were celebrating because of Theodore's arrest."What is going on with this people? Why are they partying like this?" Oliver asked. He is obviously wondering the same thing as Chris."It looks like everybody's happy for my homecoming." Theodore said cockily."Yeah, they're happy that you can finally get
Alumni Homecoming Batch '03Many says that it was the best batch in all of Burton Grove High School. It was the coolest, naughtiest, and the most intelligent batch of all. Among the '03 batch, only some of them didn't get to have a good life. The huge majority of their batch turned out as professionals. Their batch produced many doctors, law enforcers, architects, etc.And the celebration for their alumni homecoming is also the best that the high school has ever seen. The best thing about this year's alumni homecoming is that everyone arrived. When Oliver and Chris arrived at the high school, almost everyone was there."Chris! Oliver!""Hey! It's nice to see you again, guys!"When friends reunites, memories are always brought up. Good memories that always make everyone laugh, as well the bad memories that always make everybody feel bad. It's also the same with Class of '03. They have so many memories that they share with each other. Friendships tha
"Chris! Come on! We're going to be late!"My eyes snapped wide open when I heard Melissa's voice. What is she saying? Going to be late for what? I tried to remember if we have scheduled activity, but nothing is coming up in my mind. So, I went back to sleep."I knew your still asleep. Chris, you promised that you will accompany me at the convention this morning. I specifically asked you if you can still do that since you will attend your class' alumni homecoming, and you said yes.""Huh? Was that today?" Oh, sh*t! Yes, that was today! What the hell!"I hate you, Chris. I hate you so much!" She was about to turn around when I became wide awake."Wait! Sorry, baby. I'm awake. Okay? I'll just take a very quick bath. I'm so sorry."Melissa stomped her feet out of frustration. I know my sister too well. If there's something that piss her off, that's being late. Mel is the kind of person values her punctuality so much. Even when she was young, my
Jeffrey's POV-Flashback of Jeffrey's conversation with Chris-I always know that Chris had a troubled past. Even back then, when we came home that night, I know there's something wrong with him. He didn't talk, he didn't even eat dinner with us that night. Despite our differences, I've always loved Chris more, how couldn't I? I'm the one who took care of him when he was a baby.Seeing my brother out of focus, watching him succumbed to his fears, it breaks my heart to watch my brother like that. We never had the chance to talk about what happened when we left him alone that specific vacation time. I couldn't ask him because I don't want to push him to the edge."Hey, babe. What's the matter?" Sarah, my girlfriend, asked. I didn't even noticed her walking to my office. Sarah always comes during lunch time to bring me food."Yeah, it's just that my brother is not doing so good right now. He's so sad, stressed out of his mind.""Chris? This is
Today is the memorial celebration for all the women that died at the hands of Theodore Burnett. There was a program dedicated for the remembrance of all his victims. The families of the victims were called upon the stage to be honored, and rewarded. The Governor awarded scholarship grants, and business fund assistance. It was a rather festive celebration commemorating the dead. There's the Burton Grove Band marching across the city. Every police officers are positioned in all the corners of the city. Even people from other cities visited to celebrate with the citizens of the city."Oh, my God. I didn't realize this city is so beautiful!" One tourist stated."Not just beautiful, historical too." One of her friends responded.Everyone is enjoying the festivities, and it will not be just a one-time celebration. The governor declared it to be an annual celebration. Something that would help the people of Burton Grove to remember how precious human life is.
Melissa asked her siblings to leave her with her friends. She wanted to enjoy the legally declared holiday. She and her friends tried every part of the festivity. From the photo booths, the lover's lane, the wedding circle, watched every program that the city council set up.When they got tired, they all decided to grab a drink at the pub. The plan was to two or three bottles each, just to help themselves sleep. But, the three bottles they planned became so bottles each. Until one of them ordered a top-shelf bottle. Luckily, Melissa has self-control when it comes to drinkin. The moment that she felt a little bit tipsy, she quickly ordered coffee."Bye, Mel. Good night!" Her friends said before they all went their separate ways. She decided to walk to get some fresh air, and enjoy the night sky.The pub is not too far from their home. Besides, everybody knows her, and her family. Nothing bad will happen, especially now that Theodore Burnett is already in jail. Th
The Angeles family was devastated after Melissa's close encounter with danger. Mark and Jeffrey both filed a month leave from their jobs to be there for their sister. Chris has never been more focused in her job. He'll at the station before the sun comes up, and comes home just to change clothes, and get a couple hours of sleep.Everytime he looks at his sister's terrified face, he feels like something is crushing his heart from the inside. He wanted to do something to help her, but she's been distancing himself. Melissa wouldn't talk any of them, or even sit at the dining table with them. She hasn't come to work, or go out with friends. Most of the day, she will just lock herself inside her room."How is she?" Chris asked while they are having their breakfast."Not good. She's having nightmares, she's always jumpy. She wouldn't come out of her room. I'm worried about her." Jeffrey responded."Melissa is a tough girl. She's not going to break just because
I haven't had a good sleep ever since Burnett went after my sister. Between the long hours I spent for work, and looking out of my sister, sleep is no longer necessary. Every day I come home from work, Melissa is having a nightmare. She refuses to see a psychiatrist, she refuses to talk to anybody. She won't even face her friends whenever they try to visit her.Our parents are worried about her, even our other relative. Almost all of our cousins already joined the citizen volunteers to find Theodore. And the chaos that he made is alive again. Most of the times, it's so hard to focus on my job, especially whenever I remember my sister."Chris, how's Melissa? I haven't had the time to visit her. I was so busy moving my mom, and my aunt. I'm sorry." Oliver apologized."She's not doing so good, Oli. Mark, Jeffrey, and I brought her to the lake, thinking that i will help her relax, but it didn't. She's too jumpy to be outside the house. She's scared of every sound. W
