Author's POV

Looking up, Elina's gaze dashed into his eyes. The man she thought had forgotten her. He stretched out his hands and dragged her up. He hugged her, and for a second, Elina felt at ease again.

"How did you find us? Thank you for saving my life again. He almost killed me." She said to him,

"I have searched tirelessly the entire forest looking for you." Mateo said to her.

"I would never leave you; I promised you I would always be here for you. As for how I found you, I will tell you everything soon if you allow me to." Mateo told her, holding her tender cheek.

"We don't have time now, Elina." Aina said, frightened.

Mateo carried Aina's baby, and they began to run as fast as they could. "Who knows if the sedatives that were given to the guards would have expired by now?" She spoke in her mindlink with Aina.

They continued to run until they came out of the forest, and Elina looked to her right to find one of the taxi drivers who was hired by Valen. The rest waited and left wh
