MELVIN’S POV

I returned to the castle downcast and defeated. I was broken in more ways than a fight with my father would have caused me.

I stayed holed up in my quarters for a couple of days without coming out or showing my face to anyone.

I felt ashamed. I felt stupid. I felt broken.

Mother came to my door a few times to talk to me but I never responded to all of her incessant knockings.
