Chapter 11

We spent the entire night on the roof. I decided to keep watch while my brother slept.

It felt oddly comforting to grip the gun. I looked over as Scott began to stir.

"Good morning," I said as he crept over to me. As I leaned against his shoulder, he sat down.

"Do you think we'll ever be able to live a normal life?" Scott's question brought tears to my eyes. I knew the answer, and I also knew it wasn't what he deserved.

"No. We have far too much power to ever live in the same way as the rest of the world. We are so powerful that they dubbed me Princess "Standing up in front of Scott, I exclaimed. "You deserve a life, and I'm sorry, but it's no longer possible!"

"I don't care, Laura," he said as tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Babe," Ryan said as he approached me. He cradled me in his arms, soothing me. "I guarantee you'll have a normal life."

"The only option is to go to the council," I said quietly as he nodded. "However, Gary most likely has guards along the way to stop us."
