CALLAN POV

I woke up to in my bed alone. Annoyed was an understatement. For most fated mate couples, they spent days in bed together. Wanting to make sure that their scent was etched onto one another. It was also during that time that they mark eachother.

Unless one rejected the other. Rejecting a fated mate was not only excruciatingly painful, but also was frowned upon by society. Rejecting a mate was rejecting the other half to your soul. Without them, after the wolf found them, they would be extremely weak.

My mate however, decided that not only to leave our bed after one night, but we also hadn’t marked one another. Archer paced in my mind, needing to be near our mate.

My entire body buzzed with unease that only my mate could quell. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. To my surprise all of my wounds were fully healed and looked as if nothing had happened. I felt more like myself than I had in what felt like forever.

Time seemed to go at a snails pace, as I waited
