60) Who Are You

Dante followed Jay, Ed, and Honey out of the apartment and down to the waiting S.U.V.’s. He observed with a sorrowful sense of envy as Ed ran with an excited vigor to open the front passenger door for Honey, and she simply giggled before tenderly touching his beard-covered cheek and gingerly hopping into the seat. Ed did not even glance at Jay or Dante; he simply stepped up into the driver's seat and pulled their vehicle onto the road. Dante could feel the hostility in the air as he approached the truck and started to slide into the back seat, but before he could close the door Jay ripped it out of his hand and was physically furious, “Up. Front.” he spat and watched Dante slither out of the chair and toward the front when Jay grabbed him by the shoulder and spun him around, “who are you,” he demanded and Dante’s eyes barely met his before the once proud wolf let his head hang between his shoulders.
