Chapter 70- Cheater

"Mommy!" Mirella hugs my legs once I open the front door and walk in.

"Hey baby, how was your day? I want to hear everything about it." I pick her up and allow my nose to lead me to the aroma of deliciousness. "Hey Blake."

"Oh, she can actually talk." Blake says, sprinkling the spices onto the meat.

"Daddy behave!" Mirella slips out of my hold and runs next to her dad.

"Thank you." I wash my hands, "did everything arrive?"

"Yep, we can double check after supper."

"I think I'll manage on my own." I maintain eye contact with him for a split second before looking away first. "You were about to tell me about your day."

"Right! Thompson showed me my classes when we got to school. Then when they started, I was afraid until I remembered that I am not alone and that God is with me. So, I went in with confidence and made a friend! I honestly had a great time and the teachers were nice."

"Tell her about your lunch break."

"Shhhh." Mirella hits Blake's arm.

"What happened during lunch?"

"I-I ha
