Everything seemed too surreal to Keir. He wanted to make sure if he's already recovered from his wounds and injuries, he rose from his bed in excitement and curiosity that he forgot Méah was still there. It only took him a second after he have settled himself up when a sudden whack of pain struck the bottom left of his waist. His knees trembled as he threw himself back into the bed. With his face disfigured from the intense feeling, he failed to hide it from Méah. But there's only one thing he had in his mind right now–she lied to him. Even though he has warned himself that she might be lying, he still bought it. And now there's no one else that he could blame but him. "A-are you alright?" Méah hesitantly asked. She didn't know what to say or how to react. But she wondered whether why Keir's face twisted in pain when in fact, he's already healed. "Shut up," Keir said, not in a shouting manner but a low, serious yet threatening one.
Méah was staring at the peaceful and serene scene of the forest; her hand was clutching the soft fabric of her dress where her heart lies underneath. Amidst the silence that embraced the place was her raging emotions. Tears kept forming on her swollen eyes, giving her a blurry vision, sparkling like clear crystals as it trailed down her wet cheeks under the guidance of the light coming from the mid afternoon sun. The people dying and the gruesome events from the past kept replaying in her mind. But there are only two people that she cannot just ignore easily. These are her parents. They looked exactly like the nightmare she had before. And its just too painful for her to accept that they also died the same way they died on that nightmare that she thought maybe it was easier if she didn't remember them. However, their death would go in vain is she didn't because she have to give them the justice that they deserved. On top of all, she was devas
Méah was now on her way into the deepest part of the forest. She still has the hangover of what happened a while ago. The gigantic trees were towering above her. As they got richer and thicker with leaves, the path that she was taking to her destination was also getting darker. Insects are still lively singing their melodies just like they always do every time the darkness crawls on the earth. The cool breeze blow into her exposed skin giving her chills, making her hair sway along rhythmically in its presence. As she was wondering about the weird things, a disturbing noise brought her senses into the present. She just heard a loud, crispy crunch of noise behind her. Her head automatically looked back to find out what is it but her soul almost jumped out of her body when she saw Keir walking in her direction. She found out it was his footsteps on the dried leaves and tiny twigs along the path that made the noise. Méah's hand directly flew on her chest as
Méah twisted from the intense impact of pain that circulated throughout every part of her body. It felt like her spine was shattered into pieces that she coughed dryly trying to eliminate the horrible feeling. Then Méah began to pick herself up even though her extremities were trembling whilst catching her breath, hissing as her teeth chattered underneath her mouth. When she finally stood up, what she saw shocked her. The place looked like an absolute paradise. Her nose was immediately filled with the smooth, refreshing aroma of the green nature. There were different colourful butterflies hovering over the lovely blooms of flowers while busy bees were also doing their own businesses. Birds were chirping above from tree to tree, enjoying their freedom and expressing their joy. The shadows of the deers, squirrels and bunnies were lurking behind the healthy, green bushes and enormous trunks of the various fruit-bearing trees probably startled by a stran
"Could it be..." Méah began with hesitation. She was worried it might annoy Keir. Actually, it was her intention to say it hanging so that she would know how would Keir react. "Could it be what?" Méah was startled when Keir suddenly spoke. The negativity that her mind was holding at this moment vanished and turned into relief. "Uhm," Méah was still in awe at how Keir reacted like he didn't have any grudge about her. "You said your grandfather is a physician and he had gone for a long time for his work. And this place is undeniably rich of different herbs–may it be the common ones or the rare ones. So I assume that maybe this place was where he went and possibly brought this cup with him that's why it's here." Keir went silent. He was searching his words about what Méah had just said. She actually have a point. But the question is why would his grandfather choose to stay here when in fact, this is Noartias' most forbidden place?
To their horror, they noticed that the ground was rising higher with them above it. Méah pushed Keir to the side so that she could concentrate on her bleeding palm. The moment the mechanism changed its motion again, the iron bar that have pierced unto her palm pulled out on its own. Méah's vision blackened for a moment as she throw her head up from the pure bliss of pain. A torturous scream escaped from her mouth as her other hand dug deep into the hard wall of the pit. Her teeth chattered inside her cheeks as the burning feeling crawled into her bloodstream. Keir was petrified to death and was blaming himself for being so weak and helpless while he was looking at Méah. Another heavy weight of horror was dropped on him when the ground continued rising up. He was in extreme panic when looked up. For every second, they were getting closer and closer to the sharp iron bars pointing down to them. Both of them quickly laid down on the their back on the ground to slow do
But as much as how Méah wanted to embrace those words in her heart and live with it forever, she still chose to set it aside. Keir's life is more important than her own. As every second passed, Méah's losing more and more blood. "Shut up! I want you to go now! Please, Keir! Listen to me!" Méah forced herself to shout at the top of her lungs realizing that it might not work again if she would say it weak and low again. "No way!" Keir automatically declined, panicking at how he could get themselves out of here. "Wait. Just stay there. Don't move. I'll have to check the vines here if they were strong enough." Keir left in front of Méah, leaving her confused. Keir sounded sure and desperate. Méah wondered if Keir has finally found a way. So, she gave him a little bit of time to do what he wanted. For this time, Méah couldn't think of anything else anymore but terrible pain. It didn't take a long time for Keir to check the v
When Keir opened his eyes, the world was still swirling. He didn't how long he had been unconscious but he could barely hold the weight of his eyelids. The bright sky that spreads endlessly above him made his vision sensitive that he could hardly stand the light that it gives off. Keir kept on blinking until his vision wasn't blurry and sensitive anymore. Just then, an intense sting of pain flicked on the top part of his head. His trembling hand flew directly to it and felt that there was an open wound. He also felt something was dried trailing down to his nose bridge as his hand hovered over his hair lightly. And then he remembered everything. But he somehow regret about remembering it as another sting of pain was awoken one of his legs. However, he must take the consequences of remembering. 'Right. I forgot I was hit by an arrow there.' Keir quickly rose up from lying, ignoring the pain that was trying to block the rest of his senses off
