In the morning, Aileen got back to the kitchen. Feeling more better and lighter, even the dizziness has gone away now when she stands. She slept late last night but woke up earlier on purpose. She wanted to prepare breakfast alone without that man being around her, but luck wasn't on her side. Just when she has finished making sandwiches, he came in the kitchen. Looking so handsome as usual, he ran his fingers on messy hair, putting it away from his eyes. "Good morning" he said and wanted to pick one, his hand got slapped away by her. "Don't touch! Your hands are dirty" she said and continued to start the espresso machine so that she could make coffee. "Don't worry, I won't get sick" he said carrying on but he received a deadly glare from her, he stopped on his own this time. "I wasn't worried about you, you will contaminate the food with your dirty hands". The genuineness on her face made him frown, she meant what she said. She was becoming more arrogant than him now. How could she
They reached the place, the driver had suggested a market, where they could buy some cultural stuff of this island if they wanted. They all agreed, Aileen had long pulled her hand away once the man was fully asleep, glad that nobody saw them. Alan acted as if he didn't do anything, as usual once she woke him up. This man and his behavior of doing things and then switch himself off like he wasn't the one doing it was getting on her nerves. They all alighted the van and we're escorted by the driver, looks like he would be their tour guider as well now. The man took them to the market, it wasn't as hectic as they all thought. It was quite as if a public museum, with only few people looking around from one stall to another, so peaceful. They parted ways with every one of them hurrying to stall that has catched their attentions. Aileen and Jemima went to a stall that had accessories, cultured bracelets, necklaces, rings, anklets, waist beads and much more. Made of different things ornaments
They reached back home in the evening and everybody went to rest in their respective rooms. Few of them went out to swim in the evening while she just stood by the balcony watching the sunset. Since that drowning accident she doesn't ever feel like swimming, that was still dancing in her head. She then looked down at the necklace that she has brought today, the stars and the moon. It was beautiful, she smiled while touching it. Her smile faltered when she remembered the one that Alan took. What was heaven trying to do? Or was it just nothing but a coincidence?. She sighed holding the reelings of the balcony, with a sigh she went to sit back and pulled out her phone from her pocket. It was the time she spoke to her family and told them about the trip being canceled. She spoke to them through a video call, her eyes became blurry the moment she sighted her son, squeezed between her mother and her befriend on a couch. She really missed him so much, they spoke a lot and for a while. Leelan
Aileen was awed at his reaction, her eyes faltered for a minute and almost fell for his concerned look, she was having those weird emotions again. However, she quickly recovered from her reverie and pulled away her hand from his grip, "It's nothing, stop overreacting" she said firmly, she held in the pain from the stinging by pressing her lips tightly, her head lowered down. Alan's eyes darkened, he held her hand again and showed it to her face, her wrist already had a red line swelling from the burn. "You call this…. nothing? Are you insane, leeny!" He shouted at her, her body shook, she lifted her head staring at him with her wide eyes. Her heart was pounding on her chest, what surprised her wasn't the shouts he made but the name he used. When was the last time she heard him call her like that? Years ago, and today he thought of using it and shocked her to the core. Why did she like the sound of it? He doesn't even seem to notice what he said himself. Her eyes began to sting, little
She was falling backwards, but before her body could touch the floor a strong arm circled around her waist, she was flipped over the next second only to land down along with him, she was on top of him. The fall was quite harsh earning a groan from the man, he frowned deeply feeling his back aching. Alan had only wanted to help her out but ended up slipping on the floor as well and fell along with her. A moment of silence passed, then slowly Aileen lifted her face which was buried in his chest, her panicking eyes peeked at him. She blinked when she found him looking at her as well, "I'm sorry, are you okay sir?" Her voice had so much concern for him that for a moment he was reminded of their past, in such situations. He shut his eyes and let out a deep breath, deep down he was grateful that she wasn't hurt. Why did he feel that way? He really hates how he feels sometimes because he gets confused with himself. He opened his eyes again and she was still looking at him with the same emot
Everybody joined the table for dinner except for Aileen, Alan's eyes searched around for her but she wasn't around. He knew why she was acting this way, she was avoiding him and he also thinks that was for the best. The more she stays away from him the more his mind would stay in control. After dinner, everyone returned to their rooms, resting early was the best option for now since they are living tomorrow morning. Alan stared at her door when he was on his way to his room, he told himself not to mind if she had eaten or not, she wasn't a child and he was going to mind his own business. Tiffany jumped on him the moment they entered their room, kissing his neck up to his jaws. "I missed you, my love" with a sigh Alan got her off him, the hurt in her eyes was evident but he wasn't in the right state of mind to do any of this. "Not now, please" he went to the closet to change into his pajamas.Tiffany followed him to change as well, she had a deep frown "Why?" She asked, rummaging thro
"Come on Lily, don't taste my patience anymore!" Why can't she just spit the name already? What was stopping her now when she was the one who called for her? "Ah…. you see… since I'm about to tell you a very important matter concerning my very own boss, so… what I'm trying to say is… this might get me into trouble, lose my job even if the boss finds out… so… don't you think I deserve something to assure my future and that of my children if that happens?" She started to bite her own tongue, not able to show her how shameless she was by going straight to the point. Tiffany scoffed, she knows people like her. People like Lily would never do something without any other motives under their sleeves. She was a greedy mediocre but that was the least of her problems for now, she only needed her to say the name, she was ready to give her anything. "What do you want Lily, name it" she had all confidence as she spoke. "Two million dollars, I need two million dollars and I would tell you the nam
Everybody parted ways after landing at the airport. It was almost evening. Aileen watched her boss leaving with his girlfriend in his black sedan. She was told to report at work tomorrow along with the rest of the workers. Jemmy and her took cabs and went to their respective homes. She gave her address to the taxi driver before she leaned back on the seat, letting her stiff back relax. She wasn't able to relax much at the vacation like how her dear Sunny told her to. She would scold her.if she heard that she was actually turned into a chef cooker for the rest of the crew by Alan, it was all his fault. Two hours later she arrived home, pulling her suitcase with her to the elevator with so much difficulty. "Do you need a hand?" A male voice made her turn, she saw an officially dressed man who had a suitcase on his hand, red hairs and rounded shaped glasses on. "Please, thank you" she really needed a hand, her bag has become quite heavy now that she came back with a lot of gifts for eve
