The scar

Seeing that Cai was busy in the kitchen, Zia headed for her room. She picked up the bags that contained the clothes Cai had bought to check them out. Maybe he didn't get her size right, but she would wear them all the same since she had nothing else.

She emptied more than ten bags that contained different clothes before she picked them one by one to check. She could tell that they were her true size. Maybe Cai was just good at this, Zia thought before she arranged the clothes inside the empty closet. They could serve her for a while till she got herself a job.

Zia then got into the bathroom for a warm shower. Her body felt so strange to her. It was as though she were living someone else's life, but this was her, she had to get used to whatever life had presented to her.

Slowly she glanced up at her reflection on the mirror by the wall. Water had run all over the glass and she could occasionally clear it to have a good view of her face. Feeling fresh, she got out of the shower, naked, into the room to get dressed, but not after she had a good look at her body in the huge wall mirror.

A gasp immediately escaped her lips when she noticed the little scar on her tummy that was already healed up. She traced her finger along the scar line, maybe she could remember how she got it, but still, her mind was totally blank.

Getting dressed in a white knee length dress, Zia got out of the room and headed for the kitchen. The sweat aroma filled the air, and she began salivating. Zia couldn't tell the last time she got to eat such a sweat meal.

Cai saw Zia walk up to the kitchen. He was already done and was planning to set the table.

" Don't worry yourself Zia, please sit down while I get everything ready. Your body can't handle any tasks right now. Remember what Caleb said, you have to rest for at least one week to regain your reflexes," Cai said as he went to her and led her to the table adjacent to the kitchen.

" But I can't be doing nothing at all, I feel strong already," Zia said. She felt bad letting him do everything for her. They weren't even related yet he chose to take care of her.

" You might feel strong right now, but I know what I'm talking about, having seen you lying on the bed that long, lifeless, I'm sure of what I'm talking about,"

Zia opened and closed her mouth without uttering a word. She tried to be in his place, watching as she lay on the bed with several tubes attached to her, even she couldn't believe that she would be fine after being in a coma for three months. How strange, she felt perfect, no part of her joints pained at all.

She decided to listen to him and wait. Cai had served a bowl filled with super green vegetables, fried chicken chopped into small bits, stew, rice on the side and a glass of orange juice by the side. Zia was amazed with all these, but her mouth had began to water that she immediately started serving herself.

Cai had almost laughed out loud when he remembered how she had usually been the first to serve herself back at home.

" Who thought you could be a great of a cook," Zia commented after having her first bite.

" I can't possibly embarrass myself when I have a guest,"

" Did you study as a chef or something, because I can tell this isn't just luck,"

" You could say that, but I haven't cooked in a while, not when stayed by myself,"

" Now that I'm here, I'm sure I'll put your talent into use," Zia said as she served herself more chicken.

" Here, have some more vegetables," Cai said as he served her the vegetables almost filling her plate.

" You can't have me eat all that," Zia complained.

" You'll have to, if you want to regain your health," Cai said. Zia he knew couldn't possibly serve more than a spoonful of vegetables, and this assured him that maybe in the end she might regain her memories.

" By the way Cai, do you happen to know about the scar I got on my tummy? I saw it earlier and I could tell it isn't something from far back,"

Cai dropped the fork on the table startled by this, but soon regained his senses. Caleb had warned him of this.

" I had no idea you had some sort of scar, maybe Caleb might have an idea about it. I'll call him after we are done to inquire about it,"

" Never mind, I'll ask him myself,"

Cai breathed a sigh of relief before he continued with eating. It would be hard keeping up with all the lies.

Back in Arizona at Global Corporation, Zichi stood by the window in her office as she stared into the empty space. The company wasn't doing too good especially after they had failed to close the deal with the biggest investor in their company.

She sighed before she went back to her seat. She thought of the many ways of getting her hands on the deal, only one thing she could think of.

She immediately took out her mobile and sent a text to Asriel as a she let out a sly smile. Zichi's mobile rang immediately.

" That was fast considering the fact that I've tried reaching you for the last two months," Zichi said playfully.

" What's this Zichi, you know too well that you can't try me with this,"

" We'll see about that Asriel. Just a click of a button and it will be all over the news. I'm sure you can't afford that now,"

There was silence as Asriel cursed inwardly. He had known for a while that he couldn't trust her, and this only proved him right.

" Spill it out,"

" Now you are talking. What about my proposal. We all know that you won't lose a thing, and I'll keep my word, that I can promise,"

" You think I can trust you after you pull this on me. Don't you think it can backfire on you when it involves your brother too,"

" No dear, I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize my company. You know too well that Cai isn't known by anyone, he could just be a random guy you had a thing with when it gets to the news. You got to loose more,"

" Alright, let's meet up. But I have to warn you, you can't try that with me ever again. Let this be your last time, else I won't hesitate from wiping you off the face of the earth. You know that I could decide to kill you,"

" I know that too well Asriel Gedor, but let's just say this is business, and it's you who always say that in the business world, you could risk it all when the time calls."

Zichi immediately disconnected the call and grabbed her purse. She couldn't wait, not when Asriel might decide to change his mind.

She immediately entered her private elevator when her mobile rang. She took out her mobile impatiently, whoever it was it better be important. Zichi immediately cursed when she saw who was calling.

" This isn't a good time mother, let's talk later,"

" No my child, for how long do you think I'll remain locked up away from the world. I've to go back home dear. It's nearly a year now, besides you have taken control over the company, so why do you keep postponing this,"

" Mother can't you trust me just for a second, I know it's been long, but we have to be really careful. You know the media is everywhere, especially after the company failed to get an investor and the company shares is slowly falling. Give me some time mother, let me put everything in order and then we can organise for your grand return,"

" You always ask for more time Zichi,I'm your mother and you have to listen to me,"

" Sure mother, just a little longer, and you will return. I'll go now, call you soon,"

Zichi cut the line and cursed loudly, she won't let that woman spoil her morning. The elevator soon came to stop before she hurried out into her car. She had better things to take care of than bringing back to life someone who was considered long dead.
