Chapter 12: Ousted from His Own Palace

A FEW YEARS LATER, MY VALUE IS NO LONGER Important to them. I was watching at the dining room table where mom and dad were joyously eating with a five-year-old child and mom was busy feeding a food into his mouth.

‘They ate again without calling me to my room,’ I whispered to myself.

I moved toward their place. “Mom, Dad, Good morning. What’s our food today?” I asked them, but I received no response.

In their eyes, I’m just like ambient air; I exist, but they don’t see me. They are aware of my presence, yet they are nonchalant about it.

My shoulder sagged as I walked into our living room and waited for them to finish eating. That’s what always happens every morning; I will wait for them to finish eating before I devour their leftovers.
