Chapter 28: The Money's Debris

THE VILLANUEVA family is extremely worried because their son Derrick has not returned home for almost two days. They went to Derrick’s school and discovered he had failed his classes, something he had not told them about. They also went to his employment, whereupon his work colleagues informed them that he had resigned.

“Dear, is there any news from the cops?" Derrick’s mother, Imelda, asked.

Her husband only sighed. “Nothing, Love... They assumed our son had just run away,” he said as he felt restless in his seat and strolled back to their front door, eagerly awaiting Derrick to return home unexpectedly.

Imelda bit her lower lip as tears streamed down her face. She blames herself for what happened to Derrick and why he left them. She thinks it is because of the amount of pressure she imposes on his education. He wouldn’t have pressured it if she had known he was having trouble studyin
