Wilbur walked into the path on the left. It was very narrow at first before suddenly widening up into a gigantic stone room. Hovering near the ceiling of the room was a band of pale green light, and on the ground were several huge round shadows. The round shadows swam around the ground, colliding against each other. Some of the shadows even climbed up to the walls. The stone room was the end of the path, and there was nothing else but the shadows. "What now, senior?" "My apologies, I think I've forgotten the right path." 'Bastard!' Wilbur muttered a curse and was about to leave. All of a sudden, an enormous shadow blob swam up to Wilbur. It reached out with its blackened hands, grabbing Wilbur firmly by the feet. The shadow placed itself right below Wilbur, and an enormous sucking force dragged Wilbur downward at once. The lower half of Wilbur's body was swallowed immediately, leaving his torso above the ground. The shadow seemed akin to a swamp, and Wilbur could not free h
As the pearl glowed brighter and brighter, a silver vortex formed in the middle of the Shadow Men. It waved the massive scepter in its grasp, and a silver pillar of light swung over in Wilbur's direction. "Roar!" Just then, the dragon charged over and collided with the silver pillar of light. Both forces were diminished from the collision, and the dragon eventually crashed into the band of green light near the top of the room, cracking the band to pieces The entire cave fell dark, save for the countless fluorescent pieces of the broken band on the ground. Wilbur did not see any gray Shadow Men where the pieces were, and even the shadow swamps on the ground had disappeared. Wilbur found the whole thing hard to believe. Those Shadow Men seemed to be connected to this fluorescent band of light as if it was a special dimension barrier of its own. Now that the band was destroyed, the dimensional barrier had vanished as well. Just then, Wilbur remembered what had just happened as r
Wilbur scrambled to avoid the attack from the sword, taking out his historical halberd and swinging it towards the sword. A loud clang rang through the air, and a powerful spiritual aura held the sword still. Yet just seconds later, the sword began to quake tremendously before zipping toward Wilbur once more. Wilbur scrambled to let go, ducking from the attack before grabbing the halberd once more in another attack. This time, Wilbur struck the sword to the ground using the halberd. The sword jumped about on the ground, before soaring into the air once more and making a beeline for Wilbur again. Wilbur turned abruptly to the side, and the sword's razor-sharp blade scraped the left side of his face. This made Wilbur boil with rage. That Shadow Man had not even done anything, and Wilbur had been hurt by his sword already. It was absolutely humiliating. Wilbur thought of the black spider and that half-woman immediately. A thick cloud of murderous intent welled up within him as bla
Just then, the Shadow Man sitting on the bed said, "You can defeat these people first. I'll battle you if you're powerful enough to go up against me." Wilbur stared coldly at the Shadow Man on the bed. "You're not a Shadow Man. At least, you didn't start out as one." "What do you mean by that?" "Shadow Men don't know how to speak the language of this world. You're not the Shadow Man, you're Stefan Shaw!" The eyes of the Shadow Man sitting on the bed flew open at the mention of the name, staring murderously at Wilbur. Despite it not saying anything, the three Shadow Men in front seemed to go feral as they pounced at Wilbur. Wilbur knew he had no choice then and could only retreat as he summoned a clone to leap into the air. Dragon aura surrounded him and took shape as his clone controlled the huge dragon that charged at two of the incoming Shadow Men. The dragon let out a roar, flicking its tail and reducing the two Shadow Men into dust. Wilbur's clone suffered a severe ba
"I've long since accepted another, and the person I've accepted happens to be another me. He doesn't know that, though, and thinks I'm a selfish bastard. He wanted to leave me in that dimension, but he's been proven wrong now." Wilbur leaped off the stone wall, frowning at Stefan. "Who's this person you're talking about?" "Don't you know?" Stefan sneered, and then his expression suddenly froze as he asked, "How did you even make it into the Cave of Korst without him?" Wilbur lit up at the words. "Are you talking about the other you? The other Stefan?" "No, not the other me, the Brighter Side of me. You're now speaking to the Darker Side of me. More accurately, Stefan separated himself and his shadow into two different beings. He's him, and his shadow is his shadow. And, well, I'm that shadow." Despite the fact that different dimensions used cultivation methods, Wilbur could guess that Stefan had been to the dimension where the Shadow Men lived. What he had not expected was St
The rampant dragon aura tore at Wilbur's body relentlessly, and before long, there were up to a hundred cuts on his body. Nonetheless, the fierce winds continued, and Wilbur was beginning to suffer from internal damage on top of the external injuries. He became extremely weak. Eventually, he could not endure it any longer and collapsed to the ground. The fierce winds did not show any signs of stopping in the slightest. Wilbur's shirt was torn to shreds, and he was about to be torn apart when the first dragon cauldron soared up above Wilbur's head and emitted a ray of golden light. The golden light enveloped Wilbur, and the winds outside somehow could not get to Wilbur in the slightest after that. The rested dragon aura in the cauldron was fed into the golden light and absorbed by Wilbur's body, beginning to nourish and restore his health. As time passed, the rampant dragon energy was absorbed and converted as the fierce winds slowly died down. Just then, Stefan's voice rang from
Wilbur bowed to Stefan's skeleton before turning to a golden treasure chest next to the bed. Wilbur could feel the special aura radiating off the Light Armor inside and knew that it was right inside that chest. It was time the Light Armor showed itself after sitting still for centuries. Wilbur walked up to the treasure chest, reaching out to open it. Just as he was about to touch the box, Wilbur paused abruptly as he turned to look at Stefan. Despite Stefan having led the way for Wilbur, he seemed to have an ulterior motive. Back at the crossroads, Stefan had purposefully led Wilbur into the stone room on the right, where he had nearly been killed by the gray Shadow Men. Stefan might be a senior, but he was certainly not to be trusted. Wilbur picked up the treasure chest for his own protection, setting it down on the stone desk. He crossed over to stand behind the chest, reaching around to open it from the back. Indeed, Wilbur had been right to be cautious. The second he opened t
Wilbur figured that he would keep them in his demiplane, then contribute them to the Dragon's Altar to see how many grace points he could get. Despite the first dragon cauldron being a great help to the dragon aura in Wilbur's body, the enemies to come would surely be even more powerful. If a huge battle was to break out and Wilbur was injured, the Thunder-type Healing Pill was a great antidote. Of course, Wilbur was looking to get even better goodies from the dragon god if he could. No one would be opposed to becoming more powerful, and Wilbur felt even more like a thoughtless fool ever since he witnessed the power of the Dark Messenger. Spiritual energy was the special power of this dimension, and cultivating it would indeed make one stronger, but there were still many different dimensions in the universe containing many different cultivators. They might not be cultivating spiritual energy, but were just as powerful. In fact, species like the ant-men and the Shadow Men were f
