This domain was a desert, and it was not long before sweat began to bead at Wilbur's forehead. The ground began to rumble just as he raised a hand to flick his sweat away. A huge black scorpion rose up from the sand beneath Wilbur's feet. Wilbur caught his balance, steadying himself on his feet. Compared to the scorpion, Wilbur was the size of an ant. It was not long before the scorpion seemed to notice Wilbur's presence and quickly spun around. It raised its tail, aiming it at Wilbur before striking. Wilbur leaped out of the way at once. He saw the sand on the side move, followed by a gigantic lizard emerging from the shifting sands. The lizard crawled onto the scorpion's back and flicked its tongue out to catch Wilbur. Wilbur slid to the side, then retreated a dozen or so steps backward. Just as he was doing so, the scorpion struck again, but this time its tail pierced right through the lizard's tongue. Black venom spread across the lizard's originally-pink tongue, and it was
Wilbur was rather shocked by this realization. He had guessed that someone had laid down a huge formation beneath Wrecknam but had not expected the entire city to be within the formation itself. The five wells were actually the main pillars of support for the formation. Orkot had told Wilbur before that formations were barriers formed by elites for protection. Formations were considered rather commonly used in middle and upper dimensions. Some formations could improve one's strength. Some could turn one invisible, and some could intensify a dimensional law. Those were all considered rather basic formations. A truly powerful formation was a hybrid formation of three and above formations. These hybrid formations had intense effects, and one wrong move might get an intruder killed. However, Orkot had only seen powerful hybrid formations in middle and upper dimensions. He had never seen one in a lower dimension and thus told Wilbur not to worry too much. Orkot had said that dragon
Lawrence tried to refute but could not find the words. He was worried that Wilbur might fail this test. There were two goals of the hybrid formation: to provide the people of Wrecknam with water, and also as a test for Wilbur. If Wilbur passed the test, he would naturally obtain the dragon cauldron fragment. However, that did not really matter to Lawrence as his priority was whether or not the two hundred thousand people of Wrecknam would continue to have water. After all, if Wilbur ended up damaging the formation but failing the test, the underground river would not have the formation to lead it to Wrecknam. The city's underground water supply would eventually dry up, and Wrecknam would face its fourth mass death calamity. Human beings could not survive without water, and this was a desert city with no greenery. Factoring in the relentless rays of the sun, anyone in Wrecknam who went without water for five hours would lose consciousness due to dehydration. The only contact Wre
"Die!" The giant chased after Wilbur with a hammer, who gritted his teeth through the pain as he pushed himself up and activated the Dragon's Safehaven. Boom! The giant's hammer struck the protective shield the very next second, causing it to rumble vigorously. The giant had thought that this attack would kill Wilbur, only for things to turn out differently. "To hell with you, you bastard!" The giant swung his hammer once more, this time at full strength. However, Wilbur had dodged to the side and avoided the attack. "You're like a fly, buzzing around my ear. I'm going to kill you!" The giant seemed to have lost his mind the next second, swinging the huge hammer around as if he wanted nothing more than to beat Wilbur to a pulp. Wilbur was still dodging the attacks at first but eventually slowed to a stop. The next time the giant's hammer came down again, a gust of wind formed by dragon aura lifted the hammer into the air. The giant gritted his teeth, trying to bring the
One could only bargain if they were powerful enough to do so, and Wilbur had made an offer to reach an agreement. Seeing as the other party was unwilling to agree, he could only keep going until he found the dragon cauldron fragment. Upon making his decision, Wilbur quickened his footsteps and pushed on. After walking for around half an hour, the fourth secondary formation appeared. In the formation's domain, all the people of a village had been killed. An enormous python curled up in the middle of the village, shooting out flames at the houses around it as they caught fire. The sight shocked Wilbur, and the python noticed him. The python wriggled its body, slithering over toward Wilbur quickly. The python moved very quickly and had come up to Wilbur before he could even react. It straightened up all of a sudden, opening its mouth to bite at Wilbur. Wilbur scrambled to dodge, summoning the thunder cleaver as he leaped into the air and onto the python's back to stab it. The bl
The python hissed loudly as it shot out another jet of flames. Wilbur scrambled to move out of the way, but the python did not seem to want to let Wilbur go so easily and chased after him. Wilbur soared around the village in the air as the python slithered after him. It would spit out flames to burn Wilbur just as it was about to get close to him, forcing him to retreat backward faster. Despite Wilbur's endless attempts to dodge, the flames still managed to singe several dozen holes of different sizes in Wilbur's clothing. Whoosh! Another jet of flames shot out as Wilbur retreated once more until he was several meters away from the end of the flames. Just as he had stopped to catch a breath thinking that he had avoided this attack, the flames extended another whopping ten meters to engulf Wilbur. The python took advantage of this, cranking up the flames as they burned relentlessly in the air. Around ten seconds later, the flames finally went out and the python looked up. It w
Orkot had mentioned that the power flowing to the secondary formations would be less than a tenth of the power in the main formation, which could only mean that the main formation was at least fifty times more difficult to break than the formations he had just encountered. That scarlet python had been really powerful, and Wilbur did not know how he was going to take on another huge being fifty times its size. But he had made it here, and there was not really a way out. This time, Wilbur could clearly feel that the space ahead of him was getting smaller. That proved that the formation was definitely laid in a spiral shape. Within twenty minutes, Wilbur had entered the domain of the fifth secondary formation. Before him were blue skies and green fields. Wilbur was surrounded by a pack of wolves the size of a large cow. From the look of it, there were at least a hundred of them. Just then, a wolf standing on a higher patch of ground let out a howl. It was probably the leader of
The pack of hundreds of wolves smelled the blood in the air and seemed to grow feral. They surrounded Wilbur before charging at him, leaping into the air a few meters before they reached him, with their jaws wide open in an attempt to bite him. Wilbur's gaze flashed, but he remained motionless. The next second, the wolves were frozen in mid-air as a fierce gust of wind swept past. The wolves on the ground halted abruptly as well. A tornado formed around Wilbur then, sweeping up the wolves in its wake and gathering them into a huge ball. Wilbur leaped into the air, summoning the thunder cleaver before hacking at the ball a dozen or so times. As he retracted the thunder cleaver, the air rumbled loudly as the huge ball of wolves exploded. The wolves' bodies littered the fields, some of them with their heads chopped off and some with their bodies cut in half. The air was thick with the stench of blood, but not a single wolf was left alive. Wilbur looked up at Lawrence coldly and
