Chapter Forty Seven
(Christian POV)
I walk up the stairs to my office. My father and brother are supposed to be waiting on me stating they have something important to talk with me about. I walk in and nod my head in greeting to them before going to have a seat at my desk.
“Dad, you needed to see me?”
“Christian, do you know how important alliances are?” I nod my head in response. “You want your brother to maintain strong alliances?”
“Where is this going dad?”
“Do you want to share the alliances with your brother keeping both packs strong?”
“Of course both packs are important and need to be strong.”<
Chapter Forty-Eight (Olivia POV) I walk out onto the front porch of the pack house. In the last 2 years we had built one giant pack house in between the two territories. It seemed the only thing to do since the reason for keeping the territories separate no longer applies. I apologize over and over again when I talk to them late at night, for not living up to their expectations and goals for the packs. This full moon festival began tomorrow and most of the packs were arriving today. I didn’t know who was all attending this year, Bradley had taken care of all of that. Liberty had been restless lately though I did not know why and she wasn’t saying. I am currently standing on the porch awaiting the arrival of the visiting packs, I don’t know how Bradley did it but the
Chapter Forty Nine(Christian POV)I enter into the living room to find Lex and Monica speaking in hushed whispers. It appears they are having some kind of argument but stop the second they notice my presence.“Alpha Christian?”“For Goddess sakes Monica it is just Christian to you. You are my Beta female, the mate to my Beta, the mother to my godson and helped the pack when I wasn’t there. Please just Christian.”Monica lets out a nervous laugh. “Hope you still feel that way when I’m done.” I look at her quizzically. “I forgot my jewelry for the ball so I called to ask my mom to borrow some. She was just trying to be helpful. My mom called back
Chapter Fifty (Olivia POV) 'That was a lame excuse you just used Bug.’ Bradley laughs through mindlink at me as I hurry away. ‘You better shut the fuck up before I make you be Castor’s wing man tonight.’ The only response I receive is a groan which has me biting my lip to stop myself from doubling over laughing. I go and check on the food preparation for the bbq tonight for dinner. I go in and help with chopping some potatoes for the potato salad. I then begin to make some chocolate cupcakes. When I put them in the oven I start on the raspberry cream cheese frosting. Baking is how I calm down and think nowadays. ‘You know our mate looks sexier than before and he looks at us like he could dev
Chapter Fifty One (Christian POV) After pounding on the door for I don’t know how long I walk away defeated. I enter my apartment and begin working on some pack work to catch up. The BBQ was a great opportunity to mingle with the other packs and work on alliances. I watch as my mate mingles along with the other packs and clearly avoids me all together. I wait until she stops to talk to my parents and brother before I approach. I know it is lame but I brought a plate of cupcakes. “Hey, you have got to try these cupcakes. Their chocolate with raspberry frosting, I have already had 3.” My parents and brother take one and my mom shoots me a knowing look. Apparently she is onto me. “Alpha Olivia please take one I can’t eat another.” She
Chapter Fifty Two (Olivia POV) I wake up feeling less than perfect. My head is throbbing slightly from the result of the drinking. It is what I deserve after drinking so much. I open my night stand drawer, pull out two pain killers and go to the bathroom, fill my glass and take my medications in one gulp. I drag myself to the shower and let the warm water wash over me. My mind keeps flipping through the night last night and I groan as I realize I spilled my emotions to Christian. ‘Yea and he helped you to bed and didn’t even try anything.’ ‘Your right he was a gentleman last night.’ ‘You will need to thank him.’ ‘Ugh of course
Chapter Fifty Three(Christian’s POV)I can’t help the smile that creeps onto my face as soon as my eyes open to be greeted by the light coming in from the window. I stretch out on the bed thinking about all that was learned last night. One, my mate is extremely talented, more than I knew her voice is beautiful. Two, there are many other males attempting to get my mates attention and I can't blame them; she's gorgeous nor could I stop the growl escaping my throat. Three that despite everything she could still love me. The fourth being the reality that I am not sure I am good enough for her yet. That thought has King whimpering in my mind.‘It doesn’t mean I will quit you mutt.’‘You better not but you have t
Chapter Fifty Four (Christian POV) “How do you ruin throwing ping pong balls in a bowl Christian, or are you just afraid that I will win more fish for the pups then you.” She reaches out and grabs me around the wrist. The sparks are amazing and that small smile has not left her lips. She doesn’t pull away at the sparks, instead she guides me to the game. She hands the man a dollar then holds out three ping pong balls to me. “All the money earned from these events goes to helping less fortunate packs.” She explains and I just keep watching her. “Gosh don’t tell me you don’t know how to toss a ping pong ball?” She giggles slightly. I can’t stop the smile that plays at the edge of my lips. I am confused by this turn of events. Maybe me helping her home last night warmed her up to me. I reluctantly pull my eyes from her face and grab
Chapter Fifty-Five(Christian POV)I am drying myself from my cold shower thinking about everything that happened after we ate last night. She was silent at my confession that I wanted to be more than friends but I will take her silence as possible hope. We continued to hang out mostly with her friends but after a while it was just the two of us riding the ferris wheel as the sun began to set. Cheesy I know but it was perfect. Then when we were at the top I took my chance. I grabbed her face and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. It wasn’t demanding or lustful. I just tried to let her know how much she meant to me with that kiss. When I pulled back her eyes were closed a small smile on her lips but a single tear fell down her cheek. Before I could ask her why she was crying the ferris wheel began to move again, her eyes opened a
