CLXXXV. The Hands So Small

It was both an ache and joy she cannot imagine. The Carolus that she was waiting for after all this time was right before her eyes. She hated how she hardly recognized him. She hated why her heart rather beat in jealousy on behalf of Oneil when it was supposed to be the beat of her flesh recognizing that her new flesh and bones in Carolus is just right near her.

“Can you lead me to the washroom?” Latifa was deeply hoping that Minerva would do it right away or else she would fall down while still on the way.

“Yes, yes, it’s just right next to the kitchen,” Minerva brought her there and turned the lights on. “Just use the slippers so that you can be comfortable.”

Latifa nodded. When the barn-like door closed, that is when her tears flooded. She knelt on the wet tiled floor, breathing deeply, fighting to not make any sound of agony. She let the burden in her chest go on because she cannot explain what she felt. She knew that whether the results would be positive or not, she would fall
