Housemates Pt: 1

Lara

Work was work. I'm not the new person anymore. So, my co-workers in and out of the lab, don't pay much attention to me. “Hey, Lara,” I heard from behind me. Rounds was about finished, and I was walking down the hall towards the front of lab. “Hey,” I replied as I turned around. “So, I didn’t report this yet, but you labeled the test tubes wrong,” Jana said. Jana was a lab tech who processed the specimens that got sent to the lab. “What,” I said. That’s not good, I thought. “What was that,” I heard another voice from behind me. Uh-oh. That would be the voice of my senior on duty. Damn it. Nelly. And she was right behind me. “Yeah, the tubes were labeled incorrectly so we need them to be redrawn,” Jana said, drawing each word out slowly. She didn’t really want to say anything, but it’s part of her job, so I don’t fault her. Technically, it was my fault. There are protocols to every specimen.
